Its not good, they can get some of the smoke into them, and it is enough for them to develop a dependency later on. It also show them that its ok, usual, not dangerous.
Never forget that for kids, their parents are God, and know all the right things, they just follow up.
Even if one might argue that they wish their kid could just do that..lol and it will make them happy and less stressfull. No matter how beligerant a kid might be, when it comes to it, they follow lead of their parents path, so best being carefull. They will oppose at teenage stage, but will fall back around 30, the 40 being the worse part as we as humans tend to completely awaken tha earlier stage of life and really got heavy loaded by it at 40 years of age, also the time when we get rid of it, if lucky/ or working on it. Many things you will do and be interested in at that age and around that age, will reflect what was put inside you at earlier stage in life by your parents, or more the strongest one of them, the one that influenced you the most.
It affects habits, religious beleives, behaviour, worlds views, opinions, prejudices, and convictions.

The mind that is not constantly in revolt
    blinded by lazyness through ignorance
    and chained by conformity
has a heart filled with fear
and has turned its back on love.
The humans who tend to 'give up'
on searching for Truth, may just as
    well be summed up
    as falling back to being
    frigthened children, too weak to
    make a difference, too afraid
    to learn how to care.

Im not a parent, so I obviously have a much different perspective than most people here, but I would just talk to her and educate her about the REAL dangers of drug use and being responsible and what not. My little sister found out I smoked during her foray into the DARE program and I just talked to her about it. ANd you definitely definetly CAN pull her out of the program if you really want to.

I think the fact that I like the DARE program probably answers that question ;)

May I ask what potential benefits held for children
you are perceiving through the means of the D.A.R.E. program?
Becuase in reality, it is a program rooted in lies, fear mongering, and
the propoganda tends to lead certain creativity interested-prone
children to seek the pleasures of certain drugs out of nothing more
    than curiosity.
Ever hear, "Curiosity killed the cat" ?

That would be a huge huge mistake nowadays. Everything I have ever learned in school about drugs have been lies.

i wish my mom smoked weed. she used 2 at 18 but now shes the boss of a prison and is a bit uptight. i was releived the other day wen she turned round and said i dnt mind u smoking weed cos i know u still do it, just be careful. luckily im always careful and hopefully i can skin up in my room without being secretive. its important that ppl are aware of the good/bad/illegal/ sides of weed though.

That fucking D.A.R.E. program. Don't worry about it, I was anti-weed when I was their age to lol, then when I was about 13 one of my best friends became a pothead. I realized how much bullshit about drugs they fed us in the program, and now here I am today :D

Anyways the point is just wait until there about 14-15, I'm sure their attitude will have changed by then.
