This is how I see it. Energy is never created or destroyed, only changed. Emergent complexity is a function of energy. Evolution is a prime example of emergent complexity. I still don't understand what you mean with your perfect-imperfect dichotomy. What is it about imperfections that drive nature? What is it about perfection that would cause humans to not exist?
It is not a dichotomy, the universe is either perfect or it is imperfect. Energy in it's most rudimentary form is the propagation of balance therefore requires and imbalanced universe to exist.
So your saying... Balance = perfection = non existence and Imbalance = imperfection = existence But what if I said Balance = perfection = existence What would be wrong?
YOU would be wrong because it goes against everything scientifically known to this point. Your really saying existence = perfection just because it exists and because it exists there must be balance. That's a pure statement of faith. That's as flawed as saying God must exist because the universe is too complex for humans to understand.
And your saying existence = imperfection just because it exists and because it exists there must be imbalance.
I explained it better than that but the main difference is science and logic supports my statement while yours is pure faith.
Its not my statement though, its yours. I've only been mirroring your argument to help you see what your doing....
Reality is non local nor is it remote. What is not real does not exist. There is no balance, nor imbalance between real and not real, they never meet. There are no degrees of reality, places that are more real, imbalance, than other places. Perfection and imperfection are totally arbitrary, and therefore abstract qualities, and have nothing to do with real measures.
I completely agree with this thread. Choices may be consciously made, but that isn't to rule out the concept that consciousness is just the manifestation of countless biological processes. I am choosing to reply to this, yes, but does that make it free will? Or just me/my brain trying to stimulate the release of endorphins by positively affecting my environment?
Freewill is a tricky one to be sure. It seems to be there, we feel it, but factually its not. We do only what we can based on the default limitations of our birth. Freewill requires freedom. Which we do not have factually.
