My parents are elementery school teachers, do you really think they'll give me money to live on vw van commune ...
I have done similar things before (backpacking) when I was just a tad older then them, and out of experience, I can tell you that it's a much more enjoyable entity after you are 18 and more experienced in the pleasures of life.
You shouldn't plan ahead for 3 years... that is a part of my point... You will all probebly outgrow the stereotypical hippie stage by then.
No offence but SCREW YOU ASS......i have had enough of people putting down this idea of mine...why the hell do any of you care....its me life i WILL do what i want....and as for the whole takeing money out of my parents pocket comment....that was slightly uncalled for dont you think...why would i get my parents to pay for it???WHY??.... I would like to say this.....this is my life...this is my dream...yes i am only 15...but in 4 years i wont be....4 years...to earn money...to make some cash to travel...i will do this with or with out others...i dont care...after this i plan to get a small plot of land and survive off that....i would also like to say....since when has this been a steriotypical thing for a hippy to do? Yes this is my rant because i have been getting a little annoyed with some people....i hope i can be forgiven if i have offended any one...and again sorry.. One more thing.....why did you think i was doing this now...please read it before you complain about some thing you know nothing about...and This isnt "Idiotic"..well not to me...its my Dream..
what pisses me off is that he thinks he can tell us what to do. congratulations you're older than us. that doesnt give you a divine right to be an arse.
Mmmm dunno maybe i know that i don't wanna be a fucking accountant or something like that . Some people (including me ) have this dream , it'S not becuz you don't share that dream that you piss off everybody who has this dream ...
Hush child, and listen... Ofcourse people would put down this idea, it's way too idealistic to happen. You cannot earn enough money at a minimum wage paying job to survive on the road. A bus might nor be expensive, but maintaining it and gas is. How will you survive after your money ends? How do you plan to afford that land you want to buy? I would love to do something like that myself, honestly, but first I will work at a job that at least pays something so that I could travel without hunger. A dream is one thing, but making a dream reality is another. You must think before you act.
All I am telling you is that you might want to re-think this dream twice. My best suggestion is this: Become an international teacher. That way you can travel, earn money, and affect lives at the same time.
