This Pastors actions were illegal under US Tax Code and the First Amendment and were VERY UN-Christ like under the teachings of Christ. All that jerk accomplished was toturn more people off to the Gospel and bring shame upon the name of Jesus kinda like what you do all the time.

The First Amendment protects gov't from Church interference as well as providing for the freedom of speach.Its no ones business who you vote for. THe Church is not a place to promote your own political view no matter what they may be. The Church is for uplifting Christ and drawing people to Him. Not only did this Pastor make a jerk out of himself he brought reproach upon the name of Christ and turned people off to the Gospel.

Scripture does NOT grant Pastors the authority to kick out folks that disagree with their narrow minded political agenda.

The US tax code is not part of the First Amendment. Also, I'm pretty sure that the limits on political advocacy apply only to the 60 days preceding an election. If I'm not mistaken, this incident occurred after the election.

Could a pastor reasonably expel someone who proudly voted for a Klansman? I personally wouldn't discipline someone who voted for Kerry in spite of his support of legalized abortion and gay "marriage," but a supposed Christian who enthusiastically supports these evils is guilty of sin and should be rebuked.

Huck I have a suggestion. Instead of mindlessly repeating the Right-Wing NeoCon Republican party line try to think for yourself for once. I enjoy civil debate with folks of other political views but only when my opponent can actually give a well thought out logical defense of his/her views instead of resorting to unthinking kneejerk reactionary attacks.
