and of course when the jews saw it needed gays in the military and could no longer afford to turn away good soldiers becouse simply they were gay those old outdated ideas were change . dont you just love religion in general haha ha ha.
That's fine. If a church accepts homosexuality alright, you can get married there. If you they don't...tough. I think so much of the problem is over the word 'marriage' anyways. Replace marriage certificates with civil unions...we're all equal... and marriage is left to the churches.
You have the right to think ANYTHING you want ('cause they can't read minds yet). You can WRITE anything and SAY anything that isn't libelous (not true). You don't have to justify ANYTHING you do (why do I keep CAPITALIZING words for no reason?) as LONG AS IT DOESN'T HURT SOMEBODY ELSE!!! :
. I agree with arguments about Marriage and Civil Unions. We should have started with Civil Unions even though that's a "separate but equal" law. It would be okay if it were equal. The main stumbling block with gay marriage is adoption. Many folks still believe that GLBT folk make poor or monstrous parents. We have a long way to educate. In the interim, many GLBT folks would benefit from Civil Unions which don't include the right to adopt but don't prevent it either. I think it has been the greatest mistake of the HRCF and other GLBT lobbies to shoot for Marriage when the real fight should have been for Civil Unions. I don't know what they were thinking. The folks who actually administer adoptions know that the adopted children of GLBT parents are usually better cared for or given the same amount of care as kids adopted to straight families. Some parents who give their kids up for adoption would stipulate that the child doesn't go to a gay family. That's too sad. These are the times we live in. It may change, where some parents who give a child for adoption list a preference for gay parents because of the excellent care that GLBT parents provide. That's what the research shows. " Interestingly enough, the current minister at my old church is homosexual. " Ironically, Gay men and women have served as Priests, Shaman and monks since the beginning of civilization. It seems to be something that Gay men and women are meant to do. Part of the plan. .
Same-sex marriage is legal where I live. Actually, most of Canada is legal. Only thing, the church/courts that perform these ceremonies still have the right to refuse anyone. There have never been a same-sex marrige in my town, but never know, I could be the first. Even though, as of right now, I don't plan on getting married.
if i could get this crappy computer to paste then i would have posted all my pro gay marriage htmls but since i can't i will just say that i am completley for gay marriage not because i am an activist so much as that someday i will probably want to get married
what gives anyone the right to tell someone else that they cant get married just because they are different. you wouold all freak out if they outlawed marrige too all asian people just cause they are asian. this is no different.
because if they dont legalize it we will do it anyways...we have the right to commit our lives together just as much as anyone else...i live in michigan,i was married, illegally,IN A CHURCH,BY A PREACHER...no we didnt get the benefits of legal marriage that people should, but we got the satisfation of having our marraige blessed by God.i m sorry but i dont believe that bullshit people say about the bilble...God says we MUST love one another...what we do in our bedrooms doesnt hurt or affect ANYONE but us...so why does everyone think they have to control what we do in our bedrooms? If we are consenting adults, there is no harm done...theres your proof
This sounds very nice resounds as an extremely heartfelt sentiment. I personally do not believe that a preacher or witnesses is going to validate a commitment any stronger than a verbal or signed written contract and a physical sealing (a kiss, a handshake, a hug). When two people become a couple there are probably concerns other than the fear of inappropriate public displays of affection. There is the estate of two males or two females that will most likely not have biological heirs. Big deal! To some it might be. While I don't see myself at 47 commiting to another person in that manner, I would greatly love to see it become law in this country. But then again I'd also like to see the Christian Party of Abe Lincoln become more liberal and open and embracing than what it currently is.
