They are the same as you and me, but they like others of their sex. That does NOT give us permission to look down upon them, or deny them their rights. Last time I checked, Americans still had rights, and those applied to everyone. Anyways, what harm does it do to let them marry? It doesnt hurt you or straights AT ALL!! There is absolutely no good reason why gays and lesbians should not be allowed to marry. It's their right. It would would be good for the world, why can't people see that. Those of you arguing that AIDS is a gay disease, well if they were in monogamous, committed relationships, AIDS wouldn't spread as easily in the gay community.
I dream of seeing of seeing the day when gay couples can get married in every state in the U.S. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening. I wonder if some who oppose gay marriage (in part) because gays can't reproduce realize that there are some heterosexuals who get married in their 60s when it's very likely they'll be able to reproduce. I don't see a lot of opposition to those folks getting married.

I think many people's argument against gay marriage is that it would destroy the vaules of marriage. Haha, how is that not total bullshit? The divorce rate in the U.S. is at 50% for crying out loud! Excellent point and this is one of the major problems I have with conservatives. They talk the talk about limiting the role of the state and allowing people to succeed or fail in their own lives by making their own choices ... but when it really comes down to it, scratch the surface and you'll usually find a sweaty little prude disapproving of people making decisions different to the majority. If you want personal freedom you have to have tolerance for the personal freedoms of others and that's what conservatives tend to lack.

And I think there's enough slutty 14-year-olds running around getting pregnant to make up for the lack coming from gay couples (btw, for your information, many gay couples have kids through surroget mothers and sperm donations). They should be treated as equals. They are human beings who feel love just like we do. I think it actually would be better if they were allowed to be married. It would keep them from sleeping around, and have more honor. Not long ago a black could not marry a white.
