If you have to keep talking about 'Interracial' Marriage and pretend they are one in the same - then you really have nothing.

Each issue on its own merits.

Could I insist its my right to marry my cat - then regardless of any justifiable reason I rhetorically bring up 'Once 'interracial' marriages were forbidden "So therefore..."

For that matter - there are two completely different things here.
One is a physical characteristic a person is born into with absolutely no choice or behavior attached to it.

The other is a behavior. An 'Action', a free will choice.

In any case - 'Gay Marriage' must stand or fall on its OWN Merits.
Simply comparing it to something else which is allowed does nothign whatsoever to justify it.

    Exactly.
You are NOT arguing for 'interracial' Marriage.

'Interracial' Couples are NOT Homosexuals and may not having ANY interest in supporting Homosexual Marriages.

umm...dude...i was just trying to say that we all have equal rights...i am not trying to start anything negative okay...there is always going to be some type of difference in the world...i know this...but when i see thru my eyes i see we are all related in some fashion...and our brothers and sisters of colour who fought for their rights in the 60's some of their spirit is alive today in different forms from fight for equal rights of labor to gay and lesbian marriage rights...peace and love to you

I see. In other words, your mind is made up, and you don't need to bother with pesky little facts.

These are very dubious and unfounded assertions, but you're obviously not prepared to defend them.

We accord special status to heterosexual marriage because we believe that it ultimately benefits society. It's not just about the narrow personal interests of the couples.

    Ever heard of a will?

Are you saying that a single man or woman can only be visited by blood relatives? If so, that is a travesty, but redefining marriage is not the answer.

Ah, yes, here's a charming example:
There is no rationalizing with an intolerant asshole like youself

How many times have you people drawn a ludicrous moral equivalance between that and pedophillia? At least ours is a valid comparison.

Right, back to the ignore list with you.

Hope you like more red dots on your user control panel.

Why would they be having a fit over it? Being born of a certain ethnic persuasion is not a lifestyle choice and it's not a form of sexual deviation.

Well, maybe you should go ask these people how they feel about their "spirit" being used by homosexuals to justify their lifestyle. The AME for instance would not be very pleased, for instance, and I think many non-Christian African-Americans wouldn't be all that pleased, either.

But what you say brings up a good point. People who want to legitimize their lifestyle usually adopt the language of successful "rights" movements. Recently in France you saw this when oppressed Muslim women were forced to walk around with placards say that wearing a headscarf was a choice; or you see it in the language of White Supremicist groups as well. Just because they talk the talk doesn't mean that they're justified in saying what they say.

I was simply questioning your flowery adulation of Sera, considering her tendency to resort to personal attacks while avoiding substantive debate.

maybe for some, but most are born that way. It is not a sin, not evil, and not abnormal. It is the way they are, and I love them and accept them as they are.

The brains of homosexuals are different from heterosexual ones both physically, and in the way they work. Why anyone who is not gay should care and be bothered by it is beyond me. Are you afraid they will make you gay?

Believe me, I am very skilled at debate. Any of my highschool or college professors will tell you that. I just have no patience for intolerant people such as yourself. I happen to think that intolerance is a major problem in our society, and you seem to perpitrate that.

And to clarify my post earlier...I do pay attention to studies. And I definitely pay attention to fact. I was just giving a rather obvious example as to why you cannot base your opinion simply on a paticular study. I wanted to show how easy it is to involve bias in any given study.

There is no evidence for this.
There is evidence they are born 'HeteroSexual' based on the Genitals and Corresponding Physiology.

You are perpetuating an Urban Legend that some babies are born for gay sex.

Its certainly not 'Normal' considering very few people ever have sex with someone of the same sex.
Now.. IF you are following the Law of Moses - then you bet its a Sin.

Absolute nonsense and based on nothing but urban legends.

Please remember this though - YOU are suggesting that homosexuals are a different type of human being.

You may believe that - but please dont pretend its based on any research or evidence in the real world.

Finally you ask a good question (well.. almost)

This topic IS NOT ABOUT TOLERATING GAYS OR NOT TOLERATING GAY SEX.

This Topic is actually about HETEROSEXUALS and everyone else in society agreeing to GIVE SOMETHING TO HOMOSEXUALS.

So yes, actually it IS MY BUSINESS if Im gonna start paying out more taxes each week so Homosexuals can be married and recieve MORE money from the 'State' than other people.

Stop trying to manipulate the point by turning it around to being about Gaysex people.
Its about the taxpaying citisens GIVING more of their income and work TO Homosexuals.

I don't think that there's any valid scientific evidence that homosexuality is biological--there are only "theories" as to this being the case, and as I stated before, scientists will "prove" anything if it gets them funding and fame.

See this is honesty... why did you not just say that many pages ago..

Now i would not mind debating this is view you have.

HuckFinn you said something about why not make a will.. I think with a will imediate family can contest a will leaving the partner with nothing if they wish. And what about divorce (with male and female) and seperation (gay couples) and who gets what and why , given that they have both given equaly i would presume.

This is true, but many other factors come into play, such as sexual repression (ie Catholic Priests) and self hatred, which is rampant in the gay community, and could partially be blamed on society and its discrimination of gays. Social acceptance of homosexual relationships might reduce homosexual pedophilia.

This is not to defend pedophiles, whatsoever.

Yes, they did, and the same arguments have been used for stopping the progression of marriage. Here is a quote from a Massachusetts court in 1819, the earliest case involving an attemt to evade a prohibition on interracial marriage, Medway v. Needham.

If without any restriction, then it might be that incestuous marriages might be contracted between citizens of a state where they were held unlawful and void, in countries where they were not prohibited; and the parties return to live in defiance of the religion and laws of their own country. But it is not to be inferred from a toleration of marriages which are prohibited merely on account of political expediency, that others, which would tent to outrage principles and feelings of all civilized nations, would be countenanced.
