I'm for it, because of the love. Love is indescribable, whether it be 'man and woman', 'man and man', or 'woman and woman'. It's all about love. If 2 people love each other with all of their hearts, then they should be allowed to get married. People who shouldn't get married are celebrities, because they break up after only months, weeks, and even DAYS!!!! of marriage. Celebrities are the ones who undermine the definition of marriage, not gays. And everybody says, 'Oh No! Gay People Will Undermine the meaning of Marriage." NO THEY WON'T! In my mind, they are simply expanding marriage. Like how Jesus included Gentiles in his preachings, when most people believed that only Jews deserved to be saved. Howabout lifting the restraints of marriage, and let the gay people do what they want.
Lets see here, I'm Christian and by our beliefs God says that gay marriage is wrong and that it should only be between a man and a woman. But I'm a somewhat liberal person. So, I put...No, I now look back and wish to change my vote to not sure. EDIT: I just read Michael Byrd's post and sort of feel like a dipshit for not realizing those two people love each other...wow, I'm an asshole.
I'm okay with gay marriage, nothing against it. However, I'm not sure about children growing up with two mums/dads, others would make fun of them(the children, I mean) e.t.c.... Love, Borut
I see why ppl are so mad about it, but personally if i was gay i prolly wouldnt care, mostly cuz i just don't have that "can-do" spirit. mmm spirits...mmm cats house with much toga!
Kids with gay parents usually grow up to be more open-minded and understanding people. I saw a tv special on it once, and the little girl was talking to her teacher, her teacher was like "Who was that woman you were with at the store this weekend?" and the girl said "My mommy", the teacher was all confused and said "That wasn't the woman who came to parent-teacher interviews...", and the girl simply replied "I know. I have two mommies" She was like 6 and she didn't see anything wrong with it, it was so nice. I also know people who've grown up with gay parents/relatives, and they've been teased maybe once, if that, because of it. The parents will obviously teach their kids how to handle that sort of situation anyways...
if a man and a woman can love each other why cant a guy and a guy or a woman and a woman?!? I love gay guys especially... they are soo cool..
I totally agree men and women ought to have the right to openly love who they will. Would rather have them out of the closet than hiding. Maybe the next generation will learn even less predjudice.
bleh. did i respond to this already? i dont think so. You know, I basically think anyone who thinks gays shouldnt be allowed the right to get married, is just an asshole. A woman and a man getting married is just as valid a marriage as a homosexual marriage is (yessss, go massachusetts). You can't help who you love, and why should others be able to tell you who you can marry, and who you can't?
gay marriage shouldnt even be an issue. people should be able to marry whoever they want as long as they love them. Senator John Mccain said it the best in a interview i heard, "that the government should not tell people who they can or cant marry, and that they need to stay out of peoples lives if they choose to do that" he said somethin like that, not those exact words but you get the point. and if this was posted already sorry but i skipped pages 2 & 3
I believe that if two people in love want to get married, regardless of their sexual orientation, then let them get married. What's the worst that could happen? Are they all going to corrupt us and take over the world? Honestly, the government has no place dictating people's personal lives like that. They are just bringing the Bible into the issue. Same with abortion, but don't even get me started on that...
thankyou bravesirubin everyone seems to be jumping on the reagan band wagon. and its all they've been talking about for days. no one seems to remember that he was a shitty president. a great american hero, eh?
but ofcorse gay people should have the right to get married. its rediculous that they arent already allowed to. have you ever gotten into an argument with one of those who oppose the notion? its so rediculous. and it pisses me off for hours afterwords.
well, im for pro choice and junk, let them choose, but something about Gay marriage and future generations of kids doesnt sit quite right with me so im kinda in the "Nuetral" zone.
Gay marriage is a beautiful thing, its a chance where they dont have to hide, away from the public eye ,they can express there sexuality, iam for gay marriage, i think people need to get a life,. stop judging people about what they do, how they live there life.. there just my throughts.. its a CIVIL RIGHT to get married, Stop being ignorant assholes. Everybody is created as a equal so WHY do people still seem them as " OUTSIDERS " . its pisses me off that people would judge and another man/ female because of sexuality THE WHOLE WORLD IS IGNORTANT........
while i am for gay marriage...i feel the issue has very little to do with love, and ver much to do with money. There are many tax benefits that come with being married. Who really needs a piece of paper to say two people love each other? However, i must admit, i am sick and tired of everything gay being thrown in our faces nonstop. Why do so many gays think people care if they are gay? I mean seriously, you tell government not to legislate the bedroom, well just please keep it in the bedroom(that goes for heteros too). Guess i'm just a prude. I dont care if you're gay, i dont care if you're straight.
It's not that homosexuals are bad parents; it's the society which is the problem. Most probably they couldn't make as many friends as children of heterosexual parents could, and they would easily become outsiders and the like. (It's not always the same, but it would happen more often, unfortunatelly) That's why I'm against that (for now). I'm pro-gay marriages, anyways. Love, Borut
If more people grew up in a gay household, it wouldn't be such a big deal eventually. It would eventually become something somewhat of a norm(most likely not any time soon), but you've gotta start somewhere. Even still, I don't think it's a very good argument against gay people having kids. I was teased as a child, does that mean my parents shouldn't have been allowed to be married and raise me together?
