And behavior is designed by what? Environment. You throw a goldfish in a small bowl, a very small bowl, it will grow just a little bit bigger. You throw a goldfish into a sharktank, without the shark of course, it's fucking huge. One guy says it's genetic and people believe him? How about this... I am 99.5% sure... that I can stop aids with a tomato. Give me 5,000,000 dollars so I can prove it.
environment is only a small part. your genetic makeup is the basis for how you will even react to your environment. therefor i think it's safe to say that what genes you have more strongly determines what sort of person you will be. "one guy"? this isn't something new. I could find literally hundreds of articles for you, but I think you know how to utilize a search engine.
right gays are not new. but up above is one of your previous post. It seems very unforgiving towards homosexuals, if they even have anything that needs to be forgiven. You seem to think they are gay for some sort of misguided personal purpose, when actually it is coming to light that being gay may very well be caused by a person's genetic make-up. If people are indeed born gay, I think a lot of people would need to reconsider their thoughts about "Gays and God."
Just because someone walks in and says "Hey gay is genetic" doesn't mean it's genetic.. My exboyfriends, six of which are gay, hence "ex", all say it's not genetic. They say it was a choice they made, or the life they had... Take for example, my very much favored ex who we'll call paul just for fun, who grew up from foster home to foster home, without his father in his life until last year (he's twenty). And his father was not at all fond of his decision to be homosexual. By the way, Pauls boyfriends are all like 30+. He says he thinks that it's a matter of trying to find a father figure, but he admits it, something most gays won't do.

However, it states that for most people, sexual orientation is determined at an early age. "To date there are no replicated scientific studies supporting any specific biological etiology for homosexuality. Similarly, no specific psychosocial or family dynamic cause for homosexuality has been identified, including histories of childhood sexual abuse." pwnd
Gays have been around forever, but the Bible(Ezekiel) tells us that the real sins of Sodom were pride and haugtiness, uncharitableness to the poor and foreigners, idleness, and "abomination". The latter term could include a number of things, but in the Biblical account of the destruction of Sodom, it involved an attempted gang rape of two strangers who were guests of a resident--not your usual homosexual behavior, but quite typical of people who want to degrade and humiliate outsiders. All in all, the behavior described does seem familiar, but more characteristic of right wingers than the gays and immigrants they continue to bully.
It isn't just b/c someone "walked in" that I believe homosexuality to have a link to genetics. There is some sort of evidence for it. amd yeah hryhorii, not to say that situation is caused solely by DNA, but I do believe it plays a factor. How would it not? Your saying that a characteristic about a person has nothing to do with their genes?
Some research suggests that genetics are involved. Other (older) research supports the view (presently a minority one in psychology) that inadequate parenting is involved. Probably, it's a combination of both. Either way, the orientation isn't the gay's fault. Early parental and environmental influences are deeply ingrained, and there's no proven reliable therapy for "correcting" homosexual orientation. Gays didn't wake up one day and say "I think I'll be attracted to my own sex, just to make life more challenging". There's an argument in religious circles that it's too bad they have that orientation, but it's no excuse to act on it. That's different from saying they chose the orientation, or blaming them for not getting over it.
I think it's quite possible that there are cases where it comes more from environment and where it comes more from genetics, and where they are roughly equal. I know plenty of people that are gay and have had no home troubles and great parents. I'm sure there are those out there like finnishbutterfly describes, who may not have been gay given a different upbringing. Likewise, there are probably those who biologically would have been gay under normal circumstances but were affected by the world around them. In any case, the "Adam and Steve" thing is really (really) ignorant. As is denying any biological role in sexual preference. Besides, there are plenty of homosexuals in the animal kingdom, it's not just people.
