I would rather kickbox with them, because they are dead and easier to beat up

I forgot the "kick box" part of the title of this thread . It was a deep interlecteal discussion with a person with a great mind while drunk that came to my mind .

    Rainy's pregnant? Whoa.

I am flattered, but I don't really participate in philosophical discussions.
I'd rather do the kickboxing, because I don't really like drinking, yet alone getting drunk.

I am really glad that I did take a leave of absence and spend time there. It was an experience that I really did benefit from on a personal level and it was a good place for me to be at the time.

I will probably not ever stay in an ashram again though as I prefer more privacy and also found that there are still politics involved even in that venue.

Sri Aurobindo's work is quite difficult to penetrate, and quite complex. I got quite into it , or at least the philosophical side a few years back, and learned a great deal.
The actual practice of it though seems beyond me.

Hatha Yoga plays very little part in it.

It's too complicated to go into here I think, other than to say it's a kind of admixture of Indian philosophy and science. Sri A thought that a new consciousness is needed on earth, and this would be a further stage of evolution beyond our current human consciousness and capabilities.
His idea is that humans have created problems which are beyond our ability to solve through the means at our disposal - science, religion, economics etc. Only a higher consciousness, which he calls 'supramental' could deal with the problems.
