driving well while really stoned is entirely possible, and i drive stoned all the time. however not everyone can do it safely, and even among those of us that can, you MUST be able to recognize your limits. every once in a while you just have to wait thirty minutes or an hour to come down a little before driving. for example, if i go a week without smoking and then smoke a blunt by myself and one other person, i'm not about to get right behind the wheel immediately after. i'm also not going to drive in heavy traffic, especially in areas where i dont know the road inch for inch, if i'm more than just a bit buzzed.

driving high, if you're used to driving and used to being high, is not particularly more dangerous than driving sober, for many people. however if you're just learning how to drive or you just recently started smoking (say within the past year, year and a half) you definitely shouldnt be driving high EVER. and if you only smoke every once in a while (maybe two to four times a month) and are the type of person that always geeks out and such, then you REALLY shouldn't ever drive stoned.

for regular smokers though, pot doesn't impair you much. thats part of the beauty of a tolerance....to me, when i'm smoking regularly (which is most of the time) pot doesn't affect my ability to drive much more than cigarettes or coffee usually would, and in fact its nice late at night to go for a drive out in the country and turn up some music and smoke a bowl...
