For myself, I had the snip when I was 59, under local anesthetic. The lady who did the op was very good, and apart from the initial sting of the injections I felt no pain at all. However, the next day I was a bit sore, and for the next week or so I was black and blue, but other than that it's been a blessing. No more worries about pregnancy for both me and the missus.
