    Just a joke, Glen.

It isn't about how smarter or less smart any of us are.
    It's about adding information.

'This all goes hand-in-glove with what is outlined in the United Nations' AGENDA 21.'

This is basically what I keep reading - time and time again.
It doesn't actually make a compelling case, does it?
What in Agenda 21 is outlined? etc etc etc.

I did look for more extensive information regarding this from his perspective, and found:

    (the video doesn't work anymore)

    http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=226230&highlight=agenda+21&f=420

I have not read any of his other detailed musings regarding this issue.
It wouldn't be too difficult to re-post something he has already said at length - if it is still 'out there'.
I know how he feels, I don't always want to put in a great deal of effort.

I appreciate he can't really get into this too much on his phone, and he perhaps doesn't want to get into an argument about this.
But, if he keeps making short statements like he has here, I'll keep asking for more details.
    I think that is fair.

If I post anything from the Royal Society, U.N or the IPCC - it will be dismissed.

CO2 didn't initiate warming from past ice ages but it did amplify the warming.
The natural cycle adds and removes CO2 to keep a balance; humans add extra CO2 without removing any.

    Skeptical:

I don't even think a polar bear can swim for hundreds of miles. Yes, it does so when it has to but it takes such a toll on the fat storage it has to compensate by hunting more again. And after a bear did swim for hundreds of miles they better find some stuff to eat. I think it's a little naive to say just because global warming may be a hoax the polar bears are not in danger. Arctic ice IS retreating. And yeah, cancer and aids are serious problems but autophobe makes a valid point. By the way, just because there are other problems too should not mean we should not invest in solutions for animals like these.

    Wasn't a baby 'cured' of HIV/Aids recently?
Does anybody remember that film where the lawyer had Aids and died within a year or two?
Don't people now have long and fruitful lives even if they do have HIV/Aids.
Aren't there massive strides in 'curing' various forms of cancers almost every year?
I think within my lifetime people will not be so scared to catch either - it will be like catching a cold - oh, sorry, they have't cured the common cold yet, but i hope you know what I mean.

There's no financial benefit to curing AIDS. There's more money to be made in the treatment of the disease rather then finding a cure.

You could say that about a whole host of diseases. That hasn't stopped cures being found - eventually.

Yes eventually, and it's true for all diseases. But how many have actually been cured? Most have merely been placed under control thru vaccines, which creates lifetime customers.

Quite a few diseases: Polio, Cholera and Dysentery - there is a very long list of diseases the 20th certainly eradicated or certainly prevented from becoming a global issue. It's arrogant to presume every single disease is within our control, though. It's also flying in the face of evidence people are not trying. As said, many diseases are: constantly spitting out slightly different versions of itself, with different strains affecting different populations around the world...
It's ignorant to suggest that diseases are kept around to boost the profits of drugs companies.

True, a lot of diseases are under control and I think there are people legitimately trying.

But right now diseases like Aids and Cancer are bringing in mega profits for medical related industries. I don't see any company giving up those profits any time soon. Drug companies are in business for profit not whats best for the patient.

Those are difficult to treat. Difficult to 'solve'. What do you want companies to do? Stop selling medication that helps?

Stick with this: 'a lot of diseases are under control and I think there are people legitimately trying. '

...and stop thinking cures are likely in the next 3 weeks.

So,having read through-any chance I could interest the fine people of H/F in my new and patented 'Anti global warming,climate-stabilising,HIV-curing,cancer-obliterating,wonder drug I have named Ultra-Viagra? It not only gives those afflicted with 'soft' tissues a stiffy, but at the same time it melts snow, reduces C02 emissions, brings harmony to all nations AND gives polar-bears water wings! Honest-would I lie to you?

And this wonder-drug can be yours for as little as everything you own + your pin number!

All applications should be sent to Puggybear Kerching PLC.

I think climate change is real.I also believe the polar ice caps are melting at an increasing rate, and there is evidence to support this.I don't think the whole global warming thing is a giant hoax designed just so climate scientists can continue to get funding for their research.Yes I accept that the Earth has gone through many natural changes in temperature trends throughout its history, but find it just too coincidental that the present global warming trend coincides roughly with the advent of the industrial revolution of the 19th century, with two thirds of this temperature increase occurring exponentially since the 1980's.Scientists know for a fact that carbon dioxide traps the sun's heat inside the earth's atmosphere, and as more and more is released through the burning of fossil fuels it cannot escape the earth's atmosphere.Another factor in global warming is deforestation,as during photosynthesis carbon is taken out of the atmosphere and turned into oxygen.Deforestation is an irrefutable fact.

I myself am suspicious of projects like Agenda 21 and the people behind them, but at the same time I'm not sure it is always helpful to see things through conspiracy theorist blinkers. Some global problems do require global solutions, and that means cooperation between nations. It is ironic that the supposed global elite behind Agenda 21 and suchlike are also the first ones to deny climate change, because any shift towards sustainable energy supply would eat into their profits from their oil industries, which are necessary to ensure that the dollar remains the global currency reserve.

Global warming does not mean a uniform increase in global temperatures alone. It is characterized by violent extremes of hot and cold, and the crazy weather patterns which I think we are all experiencing,

3 weeks? I wish. If they put half as much into cures as they did treatments. we'd probably have cured the common cold by now.

Ignoring developments again, bro... You do not take into consideration pathways...
It is simple to ignore treatments if your premise is a profit margin. I find that cynical view tedious. Continue on if you so wish... does not impede progress.

Before I delve into the science of this, let's talk about the psychology of it. Both Rat and Glen mentioned there reasons for their skepticism, which isn't based on science, it's instead based on mistrust of the media. When people come up with a thesis in their minds (global warming is false) rather than examine the data, they look for data sets which can enforce their current beliefs. So a longer winter is evidence that climate change, which is a warming globe in the largest sense, is false.

Of course that isn't logical. But most people do that about their beliefs. They are self reinforcing. And because of that, none of the information which I'm about to present will sway their beliefs. It's much like a religion.

    http://arstechnica.com/science/2012/12/strong-opinions-on-climate-change-are-self-reinforcing/

About cyclical weather patterns. Of course they change, but we now have mountains of data that they have never changed as quickly as they do now. It has been a cold winter in the Northeast. Winters are supposed to be cold. It could be the fact that cold winters would be more likely in that area, as with shifting ocean currents from decreased salinity due to climate change.

    http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-blogs/climatechange/warm-water-the-reason-for-cold/47927

Weather is also pretty fickle. It's difficult to blame a particular storm on climate change. What we can say with statistical certainty, is that over the past 20 years, tropical storms have been 20% stronger. Because of climate change.

    http://txchnologist.com/post/34778252805/tropical-cyclone-strength-and-duration-spike-this-year

There are many things we can say with relative certainty, including fairly detailed predictions of past weather from ice core samples. Rat had said otherwise, which is due to a fundamental misunderstanding on his part of the science. To clear up this misunderstanding, here's a piece from the journal Science. Posted without permission, but for educational purposes.

Now what the opposing side does, is collect bits and pieces of the picture which don't add up, and post them as truisms, such as Rat did with his Misunderstanding of the antarctic ice core data. Explained in further detail below.

    http://www.rtcc.org/antarctic-ice-cores-back-co2-and-temperature-link/

Now this type of skepticism is good for the scientific community. But in the public sphere, it doesn't as much promote healthy debate, as it just creates self reinforcing emotional reactions. Incidentally, my father, who has no college degree or scientific credentials, is employed by an oil company, partially to compile this, generally right wing, available snippets of counter evidence.

As for peer reviewed work, the scientific community already has a wonderful resource, that is accessible to laymen like us, called the IPCC. Generally this authoritative sort of information is laughed off by the skeptics, who say it's just part of the scheme, like Rat does in his NWO understanding of the world. If that were the case however, it doesn't make sense that they'd be preparing for it.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...arming-heres-why-the-world-bank-is-terrified/

The data forecasts have been extremely accurate, Here's a little from Fox News.

    http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/12/2...her-too-dry-or-too-wet-just-as/#ixzz2FeE6CNuX

And here is the IPCC. I recommend everyone read it, it's not overly dry.

    http://www.ipcc.ch/publications_and...fourth_assessment_report_synthesis_report.htm

And here's a cute little chart of world temperatures for the past 131 years, presented in 26 seconds.
