I just finished reading that article. I'm blown away. I knew about the Pentagon report, and I read Discover Magazine, but it's still astounding to read these things. I had no idea we were building a wall, a STEPPED WALL along the Mexican border...it that for real? And I agree that this is (obviously) much worse than any terrorism. Thing is, since the USA uses 22-25% of the worlds energy, that makes us the largest global terrorist organization in the world, ever. And they tell us to brace for impact? Hell, this might just be the Revolution everyone talked about in the 60s. A few decades late but this is going to be serious, even if it isn't this worst case scenario. Brace for impact indeed... What amazes me is that no one cares. I could forward this article to all my friends (do you have a link, by the way?) but they wouldn't read it because of the length. We are about to be royally screwed, and no one gives a damn. Karma in action?
actualy a three degree rise in ambient temperature would be great for the planet , fucked for us, earth first, we'll mine the other planets later
Well, it's true, the Earth's climate isn't a stable thing, has always changed; warmer weather and more CO2 in the air will help life, by helping plants. Life will adapt, but the thing that worries me is that we've put a lot of stresses on world ecosystems and it could be a long time before they recover. And there is no reason that this should be, but for our own arrogance and indifference towards nature. We are the ones out of balance, not the rest of the world.
