Drugs are part of reality. No. They are a part of our lives. A soul who rejects drugs because the soul believes they can cloud the soul's judgement already has clouded judgement.
i read some book about consciousness, afterlife, and near death experiences... i forget what it was called. but it said that the things people experience when they're about to die are almost exactly the same as what some people experience on LSD or shrooms. why would some plant just randomly make you experience the answer to one of the biggest questions in life? that's too powerful to be an accident. i think when you're stoned you're thinking more in your godhead. you don't communicate the same. normally communication takes up most of our time, it's what we're most interested in. you're either on the phone, or on hipforums , or talking to friends, or writing to yourself. things you see are tools, or serve some purpose. that lamp is for light... spoons are for transporting food to your mouth... windows are to see through. a high mind is too absorbed in pure thought in itself to absorb words it's already heard a million times, or to say words it's already said a million times. like when you're baked and someone asks you what you're thinking about, and you don't know. there aren't words. you were just THINKING. things you see are beautiful and intricate and amazing. you wonder about them, how they came to be, why they are shaped the way they are. you can recognize the atmosphere of a room created by the colors of the objects in it, and the unique feeling that comes from that exact arrangement. a sober mind wants to do something, make something, surround itself in change. a stoned mind recognizes what it sees, doesn't just look through it's surroundings, and can appreciate the significance of the most "insignificant" things. i'm not sure if i got too into that or not . i think god would definately approve of marijuana. i personally never smoke to "escape reality". i smoke to escape illusions. to tune into pure living, not getting caught up in what your body is doing. ADHD and ADD drugs that make you "concentrate" on things like school work and cleaning your room are the dangerous ones. that's not letting you in your head, that's cutting you off. but i can't judge, since i've never been on them, whether or not god is likely to approve. i can't judge that anyway. so don't take me seriously, it's just my opinion.
Actually the brain releases a huge amount of DMT into your brain while you're sleeping (which alters your consciousness whether you like drugs or not) and also near the point of human death. The only thing I've ever heard that is a reason to not smoke, is the same as the reason to not fuck a minor, "obey the laws of the land."
This amount is far from huge during sleep, and is only a hypothetical aid in dreaming. Lots more research needs to be done.
ya man im on ADD drugs man and like it blocks out my ideas and such like towards drawing and such man, but i figured out that i can switch my concentrating onto drawing and it helps me more
"What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean,' but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean.' " That just about sums it up for what I think of God and marijuana. I truly believe that it's your inentions when you use the drugs. Someone said that your God should be able to see wether your intentions are positive or not and I really dig that. Alot of people use drugs as a way to escape reality or use drugs in a really disgusting manner but then there are alot of people who smoke mairjuana and genuinely respect the herb. I think that God is completely approving of the use of certain drugs in certain ways. I would guess that God is pretty anti crack-cocaine and anti other drugs of it's kind, but I think that smoking pot is fine.
I was thinking a lot about this one Sunday afternoon while walking around a wooded lake smoking a bowl. There are a few verses in the Bible, I can't quote them exactly, but say something like "I give to you every herb of the land." Also, when you think of all the possibilities of good that cannabis does, be it medical marijuana, the nutritional value of it, hemp, paper, the alternative fuels, the list goes on and on, but how can so much good for mankind be bad in the eyes of God? As a fairly devout Christian, it just makes no sense to me.
I have personally never toked or tripped, but know several people who have. But there are verses that say not to let yourself be of unsound mind... Which is debateable as to what it is. The Bible mentions "do not to be drunk on wine which leads to debauchery" and "Wine is a mocker and strong drink is raging" but never mentions other drugs specifically, or at least not that I have found. And they did have opium back then and used it. It was not concentrated as in morphine or heroin but it still gave a good high. As I mentioned, I don't use any "illegal" drugs, but I just thought I would add a pro and con arguement to the conversation.
