but that 'fact' gets us nowhere, seeing as 'they' are "finding how astonishingly accurate many of the bibles predictions are!"
I would say that you might be out of luck recognizing God for what he is, in your present lifetime. You might have to be reincarnated about 50 more times before you get it.
You don't know that M/E cannot be created or destroyed. There is no evidence that supports your claim. The fact that you do not know how to create matter from nothing (or anihilate it without a trace) does not mean it cannot be done. God can do it . Can you? Actually, God has been shown, revealed through the structure of reality. I gave you a few examples of things that God does to show God's existence. You've told me "prove it". I've told you God controls everything in reality, even the words I am typing to you right now and your lack of understanding of God's existence. Unless God chooses to prove God's existence to you, you can't get proof from a man. God will happily show you gravity exists. God will readily show you that altering the gene structure of a plant will change it's characteristics. God will show you that ingesting an advil when you have a fever will reduce the fever. God will happily voice what lies in the heart of a man for all to see (the words God has placed within us). God won't reveal God's power (to you) until you are ready (and only God knows when this time is). First time a blind man sees the color red, he says "WTF, is that blue?"
So what? Your statement there is just another opinion. If I see god as only the good parts, or only what jesus says about god, or just what paul says in 1Corinthians, or whatever, that's fine. Aren't we entitled to our own opinions, or must we all adopt yours? You want objective evidence of something that is not objective. Atheists constantly demand that, forgetting how illogical that is (even for all their love of logic). No one has a monopoly on truth, including you. You might be right, or maybe the believer of 1Corinthians is right. Besides, what you call cherry picking, others see as skimming the scum off the good stuff. Believe it or not, but the old priest kings might have had a reason to make god sound like he loved only the Jews and was vengeful against everyone else. Maybe the modern reader of the Bible can see that ancient propoganda and see that it's not useful or "true". Why do you insist the believer take ALL of the Bible or NONE of it? Why do you care?
I don't have to do the experiments. They have been done already and the evidence is there for anyone who would like to witness them. The FACT is that SOMEONE has proven this (Einstein 1905). No one has proven "God". So, I'll go with the most reasonable assessment. I keep hearing the quacking, but I don't see the duck, Kharakov. I keep smelling what your cooking, but WHERE'S THE BEEF?!? ROFL....yeah, that's "proof". You told me. Everything I've discovered or see has been discovered throughout history, just add the extra appendage and viola! "God did it". That's funny Kharakov, you add the "God" tag to anything and everything with ABSOLUTELY ZERO EVIDENCE OF IT. ZERO- ZER-FUCKING- O.....KHARAKOV. Tell me when you get ready for a real debate without tossing your "God" assumption around without ANYTHING to back it up. When you find evidence of your invisible sky Daddy, let me know. I'd be very interested.
Ah ha! That's right "it is NOT objective". Thank you. Cherry picking is taking parts that fit your preconceived notions. Admitting to this, as you and Kharakov just did, further destroys any credibility you'd have to convert believers. However, if your aim is NOT to convert believers, then you need to check out the whole purpose and aim behind Christianity...or...did you "skim off" that part of it. I just love the versions of the "truth" I've heard here. If there hasn't been one inconsistency after another, there has been a whole lot of philosophical gymnastics trying to "save" the "Saviour"...*lol*
Don't get confused, I'm not a Christian or even a theist (in the typical sense). And everyone knows religion is not objective (provable). You're making a victory out of nothing. For me, my beliefs may not be "rational" or "objective" but they don't have to be. To reject the irrational part of myself, of life, it to cut myself in half and ignore the irrational (aka subjective). That in itself is irrational. I have no desire to convert anyone (I'm not even sure what they'd be converting to...). Anyways, I'll ask again, why do you care if people pick and choose? And, are you sure YOU are seeing the whole picture, or are you perhaps also picking and choosing what you believe?
I have said time and time again, I don't care what you do as long as it doesn't coerce me in any way. But, I like to debate and I like to express myself. That's about it.
That's what I am saying. The evidence (of God) is there for you when you are ready for it. The reason I am telling you the stuff I have experienced, my reasons for believing, is because I believe God will give you similar experiences to the ones I have had. I didn't have a person to tell me about having similar experiences, you do. When (not if) God reveals God's existence to you through similar experiences, you will be able to draw on your knowledge of the bible, the experiences that I have related to you, etc. You are well prepared, far more prepared than I was. Consider yourself lucky. To you. People don't prove God's existence, God does. People simply do not have the power to do so. Lol. I was thinking about how much beef I ate yesterday. I ate 3 1/4 lb hamburgers for lunch and a shitload of yogurt. Was thinking about telling it to you in my earlier post, thinking it would arise a coincidence, luckily God did not let me. Nah, that's hearsay. I told you that already. Eventually you will understand that everything is evidence of God's intent. God want's people to know the intricacy of the natural world that God has created. It shows God's power and intelligence. I've told you some examples. Flew right over your head though.
Pleasure and pain, love and hate, sadness and joy, war and peace, are all part of life. Haven't you heard the song Turn! Turn! Turn! It was based on a Bible passage.
Reminds me of the time I did a bunch of liquid. Was watching video's on tv and mariah carey was on, some video with a bunch of horses in it, the horses ran out of the tv as God moved me.
