I quit eating meat on order of intelligence: 1. Adult Humans 2. Monkeys 3. Human Babies 4. Dolphins 5. Pigs 6. Cows Now it's all mammals and marsupials (though we don't get much Kangaroo meat around here ), next it should be fowl I guess.
If you're refering to aborted fetus steak, then yes... yummy... can't stop eating that stuff. If you're refering to other meat...then no, but it's a healthy part of me diet.
Yes, it will really have an effect if you throw yourself into this. You will really not be feeling great if you do this and stick to it. It is a shock to your system and that takes time to get through. Your body is use to chemicals and other things that a vegan diet does not support and all else that a vegan diet does not do....your body shall be effected and it will rebel. You will feel horrid if you really do it that fast. If you want to do vegan it is something you work up to........not just do. From a veggie diet it takes about 6 to 8 weeks to do with out discomfort.........holy from a whole diet, it will take about six months before there is not only no discomfort but also that there is balance in your diet and it is healthy. It is not a whim.........no lifestyle ever is. Best of health to you.
Could I substitute the cheese for french fries? And instead of letuce could I get a snickers? Cuz I still like the roughage..
I did the whole vegan thing for about a month in the beginning of this year, as a sort of detox. It's surprisingly easy, though I started missing cheese a lot... after like two days. Mmm cheese... Soy milk, soy ice cream... it's all good. But vegan cheese is just EVIL. Anyhoo, I have some awesome vegan recipes if you're in need of any.
That sounds neat. Hey, good luck with that. I've always considered trying it, but I don't think it's really my thing. That's cool that you're going to give it a shot, though---it's always fun to try something different for a while.
Many moons ago I was a vegetarian. Then I became pregnant and started craving meat like crazy. So, I ate it, figured my body was trying to tell me something. I like to cook vegetarian at least several times a week, however, my husband is of the mindset that it's not a meal unless it has meat in it. However, he admits that the veggie meals that I do make are really good, just that they would be more filling if they had some meat in them. My kids are semi-veggies. There isn't much meat-wise that they'll eat. My little sister is a vegetarian, she's been for quite some time now. Vegan, I could never do that. I think there are just too many restrictions, and if you only live once...well... Anyway, good luck to you BSR! I think it's really cool that you're trying it out at least for the experience!
I think I'll take Heat's advice and not just fling myself into it... But I will cook some of the meals off that website... might as well try some vegan food that does not come frozen from a supermarket.
I really am so proud of you... even after all the crap you give me! Much Love and Respect for you efforts. Even if it's not a lifestyle change and even if you aren't intending to save animals, you will still be doing an acceptional thing for the environment. Every little bit helps.
I am eating a yummy vegan lasagna... I didn't make it, but my microwave did a great job of cooking it.
I am contemplating making that one quote my sig, as it made me laugh for a good 10 minutes, easy. I have no clue what that means. I even went to a translation site, in hopes that you were trying to speak in russian to Pavel, but unfortunatly it wasn't ;_; Is that just gibberish or does that really mean something? It looks almost like sandskrit or something... You can say that again!
haha, there's no such thing as a semi-vegetarian. vegetarian means that you don't eat meat silly people LOL. calling yourself semi-vegetarian is like running a mile and calling yourself a 'semi-marathon runner' LOL I commend you on your choice to eat vegan, though. I started out just seeing if i could go without meat for one day, and after that day, i eventually just became vegan. and that diet plan is very good, lots of good recipes and stuff there.
you can make an awesome chili using those spicy black bean patties that morningstar farms makes, instead of beef or poultry. so good. i gotta see if i can dig up my rice and veggie bake recipe. it's something you cook on friday and eat for the rest of the weekend. it's SO GOOD. people get totally hooked on it. but it's not vegan, there is cheese. i suppose you could use a soy replacement, but it's not the same. but i do use granburger granules. sounds horrible, but it's good AND satisfying.
