i'm down 10 pounds in the month since i started eating regularly. forcing myself to eat SOMETHING, ANYTHING for breakfast is hard. it give me the shakes and i'm probably going to the bathroom 4 times a day. but i get hungry a lot more often, which is scary, being overweight as i am. i still have that thing in my head that says "you're fat, do you really need to eat?" the answer is yes, i do, or my metabolism will never wake up. but the physical consequences are uncomfortable. i'm getting used to it, but it's difficult. i still recommend it. i consider soda the devil. i never buy it. i don't want my daughters drinking it. the water out of the tap here is delicious, unlike a lot of areas where it is simply foul and you have to buy bottled water. so saving money on the water is awesome.
I'm on the same track as KC now. I feel like I've been a moron all this time, too. All these years I've been fairly health-conscious, and stayed large even though I wasn't eating too much. Only recently did it really occur to me to space out my meals more throughout the day, and force myself to eat in the mornings. All of a sudden I'm hungry all the time, and I seem to be losing weight also! Pretty weird, but I'm beginning to understand the wonders of my digestive system... all this time my body's just been in "starvation mode".
the only thing i lost being a vegan was my hair and looks. fucking sucked. now i can't eat soy EVER. you know how much stuff has soy in it? but good for you. it's a brilliant, varied diet.
drink minimum 3 litres of water per day. dont eat anything after 8pm. you will feel better in the morning for it too
Diet soda doesn't make me hungry... Maybe I'm unique. I eat once every three hours- it gives your body time to digest, and it keeps you from snacking way too much. And don't eat right before you go to bed. I also play a lot of DDR, which seems to be helping. You don't have to go out and buy an expencive video game and dance pad to lose weight, of course, but just make sure exercise is something you really enjoy. Weight loss doesn't have to be torture. Enjoy yourself. And from my experience, it's a lot better mentally if you only weigh yourself once a week or so. I found that in the past, I used to weigh myself every day, and get frustrated at what appeared to be no progress. Then I would just give up. I shouldn't have done that, because it wasn't that it wasn't working, it was that it takes time to lose weight.
oh hell yes. some nuts, legumes, greens. i had a wonderfully varied diet (thanks to the $75/wk dietician). i still have the huge variety in my diet, minus most of the fruit and soy, plus the meat. i don't do fruit so well, i don't do soy at all. nuts, well, they're kinda iffy, but they're kind of addictive.
ok so heres something i bet u gujys didnt know...eating later in the evening does NOT add weight to u..at all...my sister is a licensed dietician...trust me...it doesnt do anything in terms of weight...it all depends on what ur eating
that's good to know, because dave gets home late and so we all eat late. it's a pisser. i'd rather eat earlier, though, just so i can get all the cleaning done. i get this late night burst of energy and like to clean...it's the only time i LIKE it.
