that was woodstock 3 in 1999 that had the rapes and fires and all that crap that happened. woodstock 2 was the 25th anniversary in 1994, that one went smoothly. well goodluck with what your doing. i kinda think though anything associated with woodstock is doomed to failure now though. i no your not trying to do another woodstock or anything, but just having the name "goodstock" i think might make people think thats what ur doing. If anything big is gonna happen, it cant be associated with the 60's, it's gotta be something brand new and fresh that todays youth can grasp onto.

nouronion, have you read anything these young people talk about here in Hip Forums, They want to know about the 60s/70s, the truth, the music. They want to be apart of a real thing, not media developed, but by the people itself. Goodstock has young people working on it, we are not age discriminatory. Have you taken a look at the band manofesto at www.goodstock2007.com.

Goodstock is for everyones enjoyment, all ages, and under 15 is free with parent or guardian..

We are not a Woodstock wannabe, Goodstock thrives on her own merit, Altho we do have a few that played Woodstock69 ;-). Did you know Artie Kornfeld turned down both woodstock repetes, but has indorsed Goodstock2007 bc of it's purity and the aura that surrounds her. There is no profit being made from Goodstock, no corporate controll, no greed, nothing to covet. Just The Majick In The Music Baby!!

I have 6 kids with mates, 12 altogether, plus 11 grandkids, guess who they listen to, Gratefull Dead, Jimi, Janis, The Airplane, Quicksilver, Iron Butterfly...guess who's coming to dinner. Their CD collection is more complete then my own with 60s/70s rocknroll. There is enough room for us all to come together with love and respect for eachother and the music itself. There is no 'Us' verses 'Them' there is no 'Them' only US!! We the People!!

Ya know when ya talk bout the young people your talking about our kids and grandkids, they are us incarnate. Our flesh and bone here to carry on after us. We concider/include them in most every aspect of our lives. There is no seperation, that is one of the things that make Goodstock honorable.

The 'New' bands are coming to GS too. Lookie here :) we have every band listed and their web presence link right along side them. You can get a sample of what you will be paying less then three bucks a band to hear and see at GS. You pay more then that for a Late' at Star Bucks..

Not only that, but ( I hope it's ok to disclose now) Cleopatra Records out of L.A. is cutting a cd of the bands that will be playing GS and will be released inna bit.

Everything about it is good. Good Music, Good People, Good Fun, Goodstock just kinda fit.

    Brightest Blessings

ruh roh, you're right nouronion and thank you; a typo I didn't catch!
As Starla has said numerous times; our generation wants to embrace our youth. After all, we are parents and have seen our Children grow from our sharing experiences with them. Goodstock is about young and old; about caring for our future not trying to live in the past... just remembering however; we are made of the substance of our past. Peace and let's keep on truckin'!

Goodstock is the first of it's kind folks. The very first festival that is not under corporate control or money hungry profit mongers.

Goodstock has always been intended for pure music, no commercialisum or sponsorships that hike up prices making it impossible to afford to see a band/bands play.

Goodstock is an effort to break this cycle and subdue these profiteers from devouring the music industry. Some Agencys are asking 250,000.00 for one artist to play 90 minutes. The artist may get 50,000 of that and the agency gets the rest. For what? Booking a band and emailing a copy of a contract. That takes all of five minutes.

People aren't aware of what's going on and are paying higher and higher prices for tickets which leaves fewer and fewer people able to afford to go to concerts/festivals.

That's why I urge everyone to buy tickets early so we can stop these profiteers dead in their tracks and break this cycle and take the music back.

Goodstock2007 is that opportunity to liberate ourselves from their control and show them it can be done without them. We dont have to bow down to them and become slaves to the system, we can change the system and have a great time doing it.

Just by showing up and supporting Goodstock will make the difference. Your personal statement without the hassle, just the fun. There will be no speaches or gloom and doom, just Three Days of Rock and Roll, with good people in a good place, good food, good vibes and good times.. it's all good.

    Brightest Blessings

250k? WTF. If they won't do it for nothing, then they're not worth bringing in. They should be humble with the money, isn't like they're at any shortage of it.

It's not the bands, it's the corporate Control.. they bands have to make a living too, they earn their pay. They have to pay for airfare and travel expences for everyone in their group.

They provide a service and are paid for it just like any other job, they have familys and bills to pay too.

They pay a lot higher taxes then we do too. Plus that pay everyone in the band, their roadies, managers, trasportation both ways.

We have great bands playing that are not rediculesly inflated in ego or price.

    Hi Everyone,
I just did an interview with Jax from fredio.com who has 242 stations ,Jax from the station may start interviwing a few of the bands that are playing Goodstock2007. I know Iron Butterfly has agreed and a host of others on the play list has agreed also.

I hope every one takes advantage of the advanced tickets sales before the price goes back up to 100.00

After 6 months of hard work;trials and tribulations; I have come to this reality of my part in Goodstock. The notion to bring an Artform to Goodstock that few know about today, even if I broke even, it will cost a lot money just to put on. Because event "jobbers" must be hired for staging-props-sound & lighting. Cost of these attributes alone are staggering not to mention what Famous Bands/Acts fee's are. Funds are needed immediately to make this happen, bands/agents/managers ask for a large deposit. This deposit isn't unusual; it is an insurance and a compensation that... if anything goes wrong there is some of a monetary recovery. A famous act can't commit to just an idea and pass up a very good paying opportunity somewhere else. Mind Garage has a story all about that, they passed up Woodstock #1 for a better paying gig... really a norm for the working musician.

Like Larry, Starla who have put so much more time than I into this Dream; we are being the "doers". We have hinted at involvement, participation, contributing, supporting and all those things necessary to make Goodstock happen. It's not like we are asking a huge ticket price; I have paid $100 per ticket to see (3) Bands locally here! Large Events must be paid for in advance.

Everyone at one time have donated time and/or money to support someones dream whether going to an event or just to make a dream happen. That's what is beautiful about were we live, we can pitch in a few bucks to play a lotto, buy a new music CD or we can pitch even more in for a dream to come true.

So what is this dream I'm harping on here?... you see dreams everyday, support them most everyday in life. When you see a good movie or hear a good CD, what do you do? You get a hold of peeps and sell it, you tell everyone it's a must see, a great Band. You'd think those that sell these things are getting a percentage of the admission and/or a commission.

Ironically, what really is going on is a sharing of ones enjoyment and passing/sharing it to others. That is what Goodstock is all about, not a Woodstock wannabe, but a Good Investment in Dreams, the Stock of our Generations Art and "Roots" Music and Culture, showing new Generations what the Spirit really is, not success measured by materialism; Success in what seemed the impossible...
Hey.. it's ok if you don't want to buy a ticket(s) and drive to Goodstock... donate some cash mon... and possibly make 10's of thousands Dreams come true.

Iron Butterfly=ina gada da vida was very popular I think everyone has hear that song before

The websites are listed with the bands name you can find out who they are by clicking their URL next to their names. Their bios, music and everything you need to know. As we all know people pass, the bands still play, they regoup and form new bands with incons in their own right. They lead the way for rock and roll.

    Bright Blessings

I did an interview with fredio and it aired yesterday. It was fun. They will be doing an interview with Iron Butterfly soon and so on down the play list.

Cleopatra Records is making a promo cd with the Goodstock Bands and that is exciting for everyone.

Did I mention Advanced Tickets are on sale now for 75.00 for a limited time. A few of the Signed Tickets are still left if you looking for a collectors item that will gain value in time.

We are adding more bands almost daily so check out www.goodstock.com_bands.htm and see all your favorites listed. 'Mercy' was just listed today.. take a look and see what's new with Goodstock2007 @ www.goodstock2007.com

    Brightest Blessings
