If I was old enough i'd just go and buy a not homemade fucking bong >.> And like I said. I don't smoke directly off of aluminum or tin foil. Just the part of the stem that is attached to my coke bottle is aluminum. And yeah. The first time I smoked out of aluminum I got a hit of it and I felt like I was gonna throw up, and I had a serious head rush and it sucked major ass. But aluminum foil can be your friend if you smoke it and not get it too hot and you have nothing else to smoke with.
