For someone like me, burned out, no kids, few surviving relatives or friends, estranged marriage, no job, etc. i could easily say, "You've got A LOT more to lose than me motherfucker!" and no one wants to know what i carry or how good i am at using it - let's just say that for one who sees out of a single eye, there is never a problem with the bullseye . . .
what happens if they say they want to bum you? "is that a fact?" has then benn somewhat mistranslated into some sort of gay rendezvous If you are going to challenge someone it's more about body language anyways. You're palms should face up and high, rather than down (a positive adrenal switch) which sort of contradicts trying to pull out a knife. That's why a person carrying a knife is always pretty obvious, they look shady, and without having a chance to pull it on somebody you will probably get hurt first. I take Krav Maga classes every couple weeks, and it's been drummed into my head time and time again you have a better chance of getting hurt if you produce a weapon.
Crazy beats big most of the time. If someone five times your size try's to mess with you, act like a complete psycho. People don't know what to expect with a crazy person and are hesitant to try their luck. Unless they have a gun and are more then willing to pull the trigger. In that case keep your mouth shut and do as they say. You can tell if their willing to shoot by the deadly look in their cold hardened eyes.
I took Krav Maga when I was younger! I moved away though right before my orange belt test and never found another certified trainer When I was a young young kid I took tae-kwon-do and karate.. but I learned nothing that would actually be useful in a self-defence situation. Krav Maga however... is the ultimate But it's a mostly defencive style, which isn't really a;ways the best route when you're againstan agressive puncher.
