I "deleted"(can't delete anything info wise really, so you're just gutting it) my account, didn't use Facebook for almost a year. This was about a year ago now and now I'm back on. Why? because I had people on there from different parts of the world now, and that it seems the only way I can reach them is through FB, and It's nice to hear what my old friends from the past are up to; Unfortunately the medium just happens to be Facebook.

It's a social tool for being aware of what's relevant and shaking in your life. Just don't be a tool and post all or any of your private information for public view. However, they do monitor your internet browsing through browser cookies,(which you need to have enabled to log in) and sell your likes and interests for directing advertisements and for those reasons I don't like using the service one bit.

I've never put any personal information or pictures into my Facebook account, and my privacy settings make me invisible to everyone. I only use it to check up on favorite entertainers and organizations, and to look around and see what former friends and classmates are up to. I can't see how any of this could be used against me, but I don't think any other use of Facebook is safe.
