Speaking hypothetically, what should happen if a terrorist incident occurs on election day, e.g. a dirty bomb in Manhattan? Too bad, 10 million (predominately Democrat) people don't get to vote?

Should we trust the powers that be to make a decision on the spot or should we set out the rules in advance?

And who would be setting out the rules but an already exposed corrupt administration and a legislature packed out with its partisan sycophants. Hardly a cause for confidence in whose interests such preset rules would serve. Certainly not those of the people of the nation.

As they mentioned on the Daily Show, how are we exactly thwarting the terrorists' plot to disrupt the democratic process by disrupting it before they do?

I'm rather perplexed by this whole idea of terrorists planning to disrupt the election. It boggles me as to what they would expect to gain from it, do they actually care who wins or doesn't win the election? It just seems too convenient for Bush.

Apart from reiterating for the 10,000th time your all consuming hatred for this administration, you haven't said anything useful about what should be done.

I'm certainly not talking about "preventive" disruption of the democratic process, I'm talking about the response to a large scale attack such as a dirty bomb which would make it logicstically impossible for large numbers of people to vote. Not a Madrid scenario, where bombs go off but there is nothing stopping the polls.

Either the rules are laid down in advance, or we just hope that somehow things sort themselves out.

What SHOULD be done is a foregone matter for thsoe who would use rational and scrutiny in this three year long charade of MIC corporate fed lies and contrivances called the WoT, PB. The answer is, ADHERE TO OUR CONSTITUTION and its mandates for holding elected leaders accountable as this nation has buried its head in the sand and refused to do whilst it milks the trasury and the blood of our young men and women to fuel an expeditionary, neo-colonialist war machine.

WoT my arse. 911 - an act so indicative of precision military planning and execution being the work of ill equipped mujahadeen in caves as opposed to our own highly duplicitous intelligence agencies alone or in concert with the historically known expertise of the Mossad, again, my arse!

Simple warning to Tom Ridge and his equally megalomaniac puppet master Ashcroft, time you boys were closed down and put on trial in gitmo yourselves and all your plans for disabusing the nation of its last vestiges of liberty along with you!

You feel free to continue filtering everything you see and hear through this exposed paradigm of lies, those who lost their lives in 911 remain robbed of justice until the nation opens its eyes and sees the simple truth (so commonly understood in any criminal investigation procedure) that those who stood to gain the most (and have since demonstrated repeatedly just how much they indeed have gained) are the most likely suspects. Motive, Capability, Opportunity, all three fall clearly on the top echelons of our federal government and military complex. Let the real INDEPENDENT investigations begin (and without possibility for White House stonewalling or refusal to cooperate) and I warrant an entirely more horrifying picture of treason and betrayal will emerge to silence the sheep who bleat in such unison with the criminals in power today.

There's your solution to the (nonexistent) problem. Pssst, if you missed Orwell's point, Emmanuel Goldstein is a myth!

    Wow.

So it was those sneaky Mossad people behind 9/11 is it?

Anyway, like I said before, we didn't need to be reminded of how much you hate Bush & Co, nor is it relevant.

The question is, what should happen if the election is disrupted by something like a dirty bomb in NYC?

No surprise that all you can glean from my indictments is just some simple "hate for the administration". How utterly duped by this charade and incapable of seeing that any likely "terrorist" attack would simply once again be the work of those who have been gathering all possible control and power to the centre since 911 gave them the unquestioned greenlight to begin doing so.

If a dirty bomb goes off:

    1. forbid FEMA from making off with any and all forensic evidence until it can be independently verified as to source.

    2. Deal with the victims and their families.

    3. Allow a several day respite, but thereafter resume the election as Constitutionally guaranteed.

    4. Call in third party vote monitors to oversee OUR election process and to check all electronic machines for tampering.

There is no legal basis for a "several day respite".

Finally I get you to realise the point. If only we didn't have to listen to so much boilerplate hatred before you stumbled your way back to the original topic of the thread.

What you call hatred, I call holding our elected leaders to account. Something you have repeatedly demonstrated you desire to avoid doing at all costs in order to preserve your precious ideological bubble of denial.

    Right, the usual.

    So about the elections then...

I think that it would be rediculous to disrupt the whole democratic process due to an attack. Let the states deal with it individually, if there was an attack. Don't stop voters across the country if there was an attack in DC or some other place.
