Sara Bareilles, welcome to the major leagues! Carole King just passed you the torch of ultimate piano diva! :cheers2:

    That duet made my night!

To all the people who say American music has become all about nothing but flashy costumes and big dance numbers (which I don't always hate), what can you say about Sara Bareilles? She's just the opposite; nothing but pure musical talent.

I've been rooting for her ever since I saw her in a dive bar, where I think I paid something like a $30 cover, maybe less. Performing with Carole King had to be a dream come true for her! I grew up playing all her stuff too.

I saw snippets. Madonna was a show, eh? She is always good. Ozzy and Black Sabbath....funny.....These shows have turned out to be fashion shows, eh? Who are you wearing? If I hear that one more time....LOL!

Can anything be watched without mention of the Kardashians? Really? LOL....I have nothing against them, but......
Pop culture at it's best..... not in my book.

Ah, well, just tired right now.

Performances were a bit heavy on the collaborations but I guess many of those people will not perform together outside of this event, so that is kind of one thing I like about The Grammys.

I enjoyed the Imagine Dragons / Kendrick Lamar and the Daft Punk / Stevie Wonder mashups.

The Macklemore song and event was pretty interesting as well.

They do both have natural alto voices, but Sara has been working with a voice coach to extend her range. In unrecorded live shows, she will go nearly an octave higher than anything she's recorded so far. She nails it.

    Last night's performance:

I'm sure Robert Lamm of Chicago wanted to punch Robin Thicke in the nose. I've rarely seen a more flagrant effort to upstage anybody. If they wanted to use somebody young and current, they should have found a higher voice that could have covered some of the classic Peter Cetera vocals.

Success is still the best revenge. Chicago (including Robert Lamm) is already in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but Robin Thicke never will be. They don't have room for every guy who has ever put his dick in Miley Cyrus' ass.

ROFL. But according to Robin, his dick is the biggest one that has ever gone there.
