boiling works fine for some thing especialy bulk substrates as you get away from pf cakes and do more complex work you'll find a pressure cooker to be an awsome addition. how did knocking a jar over allow contaminant air in?
I just assumed enough vermiculite moved around to expose some substrate. The jars were pretty full though...
I dont use a vermiculite layer in my spawn jars, I beat them against a sterilized phonebook to loosen the kernels up for a faster more even colonization and it seems to work fine. Sorry for shitty spelling overdid the sacrement and scrambled my brain, forgot how to do a bunch of things like math fuckin math, can't do what I'm trained to do because I can't solve the necessary problems, ran into an ex CNC machinist with the same problem in rainbow land, twas greatz get a pressure cooker.
