Lady Gaga claims that she was recently "addicted to marijuana" and smoked "15 to 20 marijuana cigarettes" per day.

    Marijuana cigarettes... lol

Lady Gaga is such a tool.

I can't speak for anybody of course, but Zappa's own words admit to a sense of shame and when asked if he still picked up his guitar in private on occasion, he revealed that he no longer could play the instrument and the he couldn't understand how he ever did. This was around the time he began using the Synclavier.

I'm partial to certain guitarists myself, Steve Howe, Steve Hackett, Andres Segovia, Manuel Göttsching, Fred Frith, Chet Atkins &c but it was not loss of virtuosity being lamented by Zappa, it was anticipation (prophetic, even) of things like 'Guitar Hero' and he spoke of it with disdain. It was a sick archetype being mocked; his disdain for the ultramundane and the masses is a secondary matter in this case.

He only admitted his improvisatory skills had deteriorated. He was using the synclavier long before he stopped playing guitar.

I'd have to include Hendrix, Gilmour and Fripp also. They're pretty obvious ones, I know, but important nevertheless.

I love Fripp's guitar on this track he recorded with Eno, off Another Green World. Really some ingenious guitar work on this track towards the end.

(I confess, I Had to go back and actually watch the damned video lol)

I don't think it's sequenced, I believe the lead solo was actually played by a human. Very likely the guitarist on stage was puttin' on the "milli-vanilli" to the pre-recorded track. It's so difficult to mix that kind of ultra-saturated guitar tone to a live production as lush as Gaga's, it's much easier to use a recording than risk having it sound thin or muddy. Gaga's music is not about live rock guitar anyway...though it's not my cup of tea, IMO Gaga's very good at what she does, her vocal talent speaks for itself and un-like most dance music divas, she is actually a musician, writes her own material and is a proficient instrumentalist.

Can't take nuthin' from Gaga, she knows exactly what she's doing in the pop world. :2thumbsup:

There's only room for one true God in that band and it's certainly not Alex.

The guitar Gods roam the wastes of Tech Death, currently.
And then there's that one random acoustic dude from Quebec. Damn.
