Why, so the intruder could have sued her into financial ruin for having crippled him with a kneecap shot? I'd have used a freaking bat if I'd had to, Mankind needs to shed the disease that leads people to taking those sorts of actions against their fellow man be it genetic or sociological in cause we need to find the means of putting an end to it.
Possession is regardless whether prized or demonic. The battle is over the proprietary model. We cannot serve two masters. Do we believe in the good of all or do we believe good can be possessed.
How about you put yourself in that poor girl's shoes for a second and think before you start judging?
Given the circumstances and the little bit of information that we have, her instinct to protect her child and herself is understandable. That she knew how to handle the firearm is important as many times a firearm is used against the person as they hesitate. I have a really hard time saying shooting anyone is alright. I can understand why it happens but I still can not endorse shooting people. Don't misunderstand as I can no more understand someone entering someones home with the intent to do them harm. Rather a catch 22.
Frankly I dont serve any master and good is something to be posessed or denied, and when denied and that denial causes more strife in the greater collective, steps must be taken to restore the proper balance. Dont confuse that with my saying I would do it gleefuly , just willfuly as it's a thing which should be done from my perspective. Harsh punishment does well to compensate for those cases in which the Offenders have no such moral querries in their mind, no regards whatsoever for their communities or their world in general beyond base, materialistic desires. If he was hungry, he could have found food from the state or from a church, there are social services to provide all nessiities in this country. Beyond that, anything he could want that the state or other charities would provide could only be considered simple materialistic desire which led them to take such horrid steps. I have no sympathy for one who could hurt, maim or kill another simply so they could have more of something for themselves.
there are no "masters" involved. we do not live in a heirarchal universe. we do however, create the kind of world we have to live in, by how we treat it and each other. by no masters i don't mean there can't be a god or gods, only that this idea of an anti-god, or a god of negativity or whatever you want to call it, exists only as a very lame excuse for coercing and intimidating people, while everything it is blamed for, is completely accountable by human negligence.
What I mean by master is the good cause you are willing to serve. You think good is an elective? Evaluation is elective and the measure you give is the measure you receive and in that lies our subjective experience of good and evil. There is what is real and what is not real does not exist. The only thing that can be threatened are our illusions about what is real. It is good to be. There is never a moment when we are without. The only thing that can be missing from any situation is what we have not given and that is our equal appreciation to all life, to every moment even of our own day. We are taught to care more or less. We care instinctively for that which we consider ours or our own. The thing that makes it possible for men to do inhuman things to each other is that he tells himself that the other is not me or mine. The concept of good and bad is a cultural affectation, something we are taught, a way of rallying to a common destiny that is instilled through the use of taboo and hero worship. We are good and they are bad. The whole structure is a vain apprehension of what is so. This structure is "traditional", tradition coming from a root meaning to trade away or betray. Our own instinctive reverence for life is traded for an idea of conformity. When things are not seen to meet this ideal of what should be we loose our sense of appreciation and we become antagonistic. The ideal in this system is the freight you have to pay to get along. If you do not meet this ideal you are considered unworthy for full consideration as "humanity". The system is predicated on disparity. A disparity that is entirely arbitrary, yet life is spontaneous, free. I am constrained by the self organizing principle of life. It is my only prohibition and in that single prohibition I may find grace. Imbalance is cause by uneven heating. There is one life shared by all life. This is our being, our true identity as part of the biosphere. There is in fact no us and them. The separate individual is an illusion about the self. What ever we do, we all do together. Compensate for what? All energetic exchanges are equal.
I would say that the energetic exchange between that mother and those that would have done her harm were not exactly equal. He made a choice and she made a choice. The result speaks for itself. She was more than equal to the exchange. He was not. There are many such choices to be made. Unfortunately.
. Gravity is a concern and desperate acts emerge from the disoriented. When determining an unknown variable we look to the lowest common denominator. What is valuable about life. I doubt that it is length of days. Which life is more valuable to the one who possess it, the life of ten minutes, or the life of eighty years? Every second is full. Can you "save" a life. Mortality is one hundred percent. One thing we needn't fear is the potential effect we might have on each other. Reality is much closer than that.
I'd have to say the life of one guiding a new life through the early stages of it's existance rank up a bit higher than the guy out to score some cash so he can grab more fucking Crystal Meth.
False. You can only use lethal force if your life is in danger. Shooting to wound is accepeted as proof that your life was really not in danger in most States, leaving you liable to be charged with attempted murder yourself. It also has the advantage of insuring that only one side of the story gets told to the police. If you are forced to shoot someone, you aim center mass, and only center mass.
And as it turns out that is what prevails, et all, despite all imagined threatening odds, life prevails. And considering the prevailing conditions of our planet, it seems impossible to get rid of the stuff, (life). It clings to every surface and proliferates in every clime.
