Go with gradual exposure. I started with bare feet and worked my way up. Never gone all out on public nudity (who the heck wants to see all that anyway... well yeah) but am comfortable enough being naked at home and stuff. Do what feels right. You don't have to be a super hardcore nudist or an uptight prude. Just find your middle way TTFN Sage
But you don't have the right to flame the forum, which you are coming very close to being guilty of. I now count 11 posts from you. Every single one of them is in this forum speaking against the very nature of this forum's purpose. Some people aren't ashamed, some are. No one ever said that nudity was for everyone. You don't like it? Then get dressed and go somewhere else to gripe. FYI, you have been reported to the administration and if you continue trolling around the forum spreading your flamebait, it's possible that you could be banned from the site for such an act. Please read the Forums Guidelines before posting anymore. You don't want to get booted from here, do you?
This is somewhat related to this topic here. Has anyone had the fear of being seen barefoot in public? It no longer bothers me for someone to see me barefooted, especially females. I once struggled with this for a long time, I don't know why because it feels terrific and looks great! Anyone else?
I think I got embarrassed at how dirty my feet were on a few occasions, and possibly worried that I might accidentally step in dog shit while in public. But that subsided quickly. Although, my pinky toes are slightly deformed and I thought about that, but you wouldn't notice unless you were looking for it.
This is a FREE SPEECH site. Going naked is an expression of FREEDOM, and is in fact FREE SPEECH in a repressive society, whether you agree or not. So coming here and telling people NOT TO GO NAKED, is actively SUPPRESSING free speech, and our inalienable human rights. We do NOT allow people to come here to a FREE SPEECH site and tell people NOT to express themselves. Sorta defeats the purpose. If you want to peddle your conservative, repressive values, find another site cause we don't tolerate INTOLERANCE here. Got it? You've been warned, troll.
"Don't scream, worm" You just can't handle disagreement without flying off the chain, can you? Free speech, FYI, exists for a reason. The world would be a terribly boring place if everyone agreed.
Yes, but you're trolling the site and hiding under the excuse of Free Speech. Well, even freedom has limits. If one is to abuse their rights, they are more likely to lose those rights. And I wouldn't suggest calling the Forums Administrator a 'worm'. Definitely not the best thing to do when you're so close to being banned.
You did a post a while back saying that you were not in to nudism. I have been going barefoot for about 5 years or so now and I relish the fact that many people are taken aback at my foot (non) wear. I feel that their reactions tell me a lot more about themselves than my bare feet tell them about me. In fact I am usually embarrassed for them when reflecting upon their reaction. To give you an example, my wife will not go in a store with me unless I put shoes on. I finally got her to admit that she is embarrassed to be seen in the store with me without shoes. How much agony does a wife have to live with in order to betray her spouse and his feelings in order to pander to the whims of people she has never met and will never see again? I think that I was born without shoes and without clothing. I believe that I am placing toxic materials upon my precious self when I don clothing and man-made footwear. These toxic materials "outgas" toxins which leach into my skin and give my immune system difficulty. I believe that the earth would be a better place for me if no one considered armoring themselves with clothing and shoes. I am right in my beliefs, but others in my species believe otherwise. The truth will out.
"Especially females" can have an interesting connotation. I watched two women look long and hard at my lack of footwear. I looked long and hard into their embarrassing stares and tried to ascertain their thoughts. What I came up with surprised me mightily. The term "barefoot" when used sexually may mean "without a condom." These women were sexually excited by a man who had no sexual inhibitions related to ... Who are you? Who am I? What do you want from me? What do I want from you? Who will care?
How old are you? I cannot believe that you never heard the term barefoot related to lack of sexual "protection."
Old enough. I've heard "bareback", but not "barefoot". It must be specific to the part of the country where you live.
What are clothes for? This question will elicit many responses. In many cases a response is "who wants to see all that any way?" But the question that is unsaid here is, "who needs to see that any way?" Is there an organic spiritual "need" to actually view the human form without man-made adornment? What is so exciting about paintings of nudes? Why are nude sculptures so important? Why clothing? To protect from the elements? Lies, as I feel much warmer when it is cold without clothing. I feel much cooler without clothing when it is overly warm. What do clothes do? Trap body moisture. How does this affect the body's normal cooling mechanism? Does not allow respiration from the skin to be freely dispersed into the surrounding atmosphere and causes us to overheat. How does this moisture trapping affect the body's normal protection against cold temperatures? The trapped moisture acts as a conduit for the cold and does not allow our bodies to insulate themselves from the cold. Try sleeping in a wet sleeping bag some time, you will soon find out how moisture affects your body's ability to handle cold. When I first slept outside in the Army (basic training Fort Jackson S.C. December, 1963), I was told by my fellow enlisted, do not sleep in your clothes. Get naked or you will freeze. I did not take their advice. After the first night, I got naked with a relish! Naked was never a problem from then on!
Oh, I forgot to continue with my thought about who needs to see nudity. We all have a natural, organic need to see the human form without filters. We need this daily and there have been experiments to show that humans suffer differing degrees of mental difficulties when they are deprived of the sight of other humans in a natural setting. The insanity of humans extends a lot further than just to the leviathanic constructs that we use to "control" each other. The cooked food and destruction of the wild are just some of the additional tools we use to protect ourselves from the wonders of the feast provided for us. Nudity, barefootness, eating raw, caring for ourselves and our mother, the earth, how many can you name? How much longer will free spirits have to put up with this? Not much. Hypertiger says, it is only days away!
Why would someone want to become a nudist? Does it really bring some sort of spiritual or emotional balance like some posters say? At least for me, a day at the local nude beach is one of the most relaxing and regenerating ways to spend time. Likewise, I save valuable planetary resources by limiting my need to rinse the salt water from a swimming suit. The original poster in this thread is uncomfortable with his or her nudity, and believes that learning to express this side will help bring some emotional balance. I dunno which comes first... just read about the crazy jude cannibal in south Florida... getting naked didn't help him any. Guess you can be crazy and naked ... or sane and naked..
Resurrecting a thread that died just shy of 8 years ago.... Gradual progression into nudity sounds ideal to me. And with someone that is trusted. Once the gymnophobia is dealt with a whole new world opens up! It's beautiful!
Why are there some things a person would want to do in the nude that others don't? Comfort, especially swimming or having a sauna.
