    I love your sig pic

to be honest, I don't find it attractive. I don't see myself being terribly comfortable dating a woman who didn't shave. BUT, that's something for me and her to sort out, or for another woman and her partner to worry about. I don't get to force change, nor to judge on whether or not someone shaves. It may not be to my taste, but it's not my body

My personal taste, on me is shaven. I like the smooth line from my inner wrist all the way down to my ankles.

but it's so a matter of personal choice though, i say if it's your body then do what feels right.

question for girls who shave though - do you ever feel like you are being looked down upon for 'conforming'? My flatmate keeps trying to instigate a 'game' where no one in the flat shaves and the first to crack looses. i said i didn't want in and she keeps critising me for worrying too much about what people think...it's not that at all, i'm just trying to please myself. I'm selfish maybe...

blah, time to stop babbling, just..i'm not going to think any less of her if she doesn't shave, but i wish she'd stop thinking less of me because I do.

i've been waxing my armpits for a while now and i get a little fuzz, but i find that it's not very hygienic, and feels wet and uncomfortable. I've seen girls with hairy armpits, i dont think its looks nasty or anything...whatever floats your boat i say!

I know exactly how ya feel hon. It drives me mad when people say things about me conforming because I shave my pubes how I like them. Oh, and that whole "any man who likes a shaven or trimmed pussy, deep down, has pedophile-tendencies", and yet there's no such statement/assumption made when a woman says she prefers a smooth pussy (her own or a partners).

I've had a few people tell me that I shouldn't "conform" and shave my pubes. but honestly, I prefer the look and feel of how I deal with my pubic hair. It's my pubic hair, not theirs, they really shouldn't be judging me on it. *grumbles*

I'm hairy as heck...it just doesn't seem like a thing to me. I dont see how it could disgust people or any of that.
When I shaved my pits they seemed to smell stronger actually?
my hair there doesn't get very long but I wish it did.

My legs are hairy but they're gross because I wear leggings all the time so it's kinda like..matted. Ah well!

    Up the nonshaving laydehs!

I don't like to see all those slick-bald arm pits.It seems so conformist or---something.Why should women have to go thru all that.Besides, they are two more hairy little private places to love.I mean, when some nice kissing and licking is going on--you can't tell me it doesn't feel good when those little babies are included!Or mabye you can.

Not everyone shaves b/c they are conformist. However, there are a few people who do. And men who don't shave b/c they are conformists as well to the idea that men must have body hair. It goes both ways.

Personally, I don't shave b/c I feel that the hair removal industry has implanted the idea that hairless = beauty. It's a ploy to sell their products. How many commericials show women with pit hair, let alone leg hair and pubes? Legs and pits are always bare, as well as the bikini line. No matter what anyone says, commericials are a form of brainwashing, albeit a descrete one.

I used to shave vigillantly because I believed that I hated the feeling of body hair. I had stopped shaving for a while but didn't like the feeling because it was prickly. However, that feeling was caused by the fact I shaved. I have stopped shaving for well over a month on hair other than legs and about 3 monthes or so for leg hair. I use lotion and that softens the hair so it's not prickly. Now I love body hair! It helps keep my legs warm under clothes.

It's a personal preference and I'm not going to call anyone conformists. To each their own.

    Peace & Love

When I was in high school,my gramma was always trying to get me to shave my pits.I never could figure out why.But in my era ,had I done it,--it would have REALLY brought some attention .

    yey someone gets it!

and yeah...my total personal choice: while pits and legs are shaved, the puss is only trimmed...

that's what feels good, fun etc, and yeah, when it comes to my body i'm going to please myself first so, meh...

i think that should be the criteria with what is acceptable - if it's making you feel good (and you aint hurting anyone) then that's all that really matters

Hide in the basement and never leave the house. Maybe, wear hot, concealing clothing, so no one will think I am a dirty hippy. I have a Burka just for this purpose.

yeah, me too. except it's been a few years since I shaved. My leg and pit hairs are much softer now than they were when they were stubble and starting to grow out. I've found that trimming my hairs does not make them poky and scratchy like shaving did, I wonder why that is? It's so much more comfortable being soft and fuzzy instead of slick and itchy, but that's just me. Everyone else is entitled to do whatever they want with their own bodies! Hooray!

Maybe it's just because we are older. I know before I had kids I was much more concerned with what other people thought about me than I am now. Back then, I would never have let my leg or pit hair grow, and if I did accidentally forget to shave, I most definitely would have kept it covered up. Back then, if I had a four year old kid who wanted dreadlocks, there's no way I'd have let her have them either... Do you hide your head because some people don't like your dreads? It's just a matter of changing your perspective a little. The few times I shaved after starting to let it all grow out, I felt gross and sweaty (not to mention itchy), and decided that how I feel is more important than how someone else feels to look at me.

I was sarcastically asking that, because the answer is none (that I have seen). Not shaving is not really popular in Indiana, one of the many hell holes of America...

I find it odd (not really) that men can CHOOSE whether to shave or not, and, even in mainstream places, not shaving is a fashion choice. Womyn, OTOH, who choose to not shave, in most of the USA, are seen as dirty or "white trash" or just lazy.

Just an other glaringly obvious example of the double standard.

Some men are made fun of b/c they shave, unless they are in a sport. Even swimming guys were made fun of b/c they shaved their legs. Personal hygiene should be just that: Personal!
