This looks great! Very tempted! If fair is interested then I might just tag along too! We could travel up together
And if that's not enough, there's this one too: http://sunrise-offgrid.co.uk/index-2011.php#index.php This one is very cheap for a 5 day event and again, if you've got no money, they are looking for people to get involved and work there in exchange for a ticket. I am also working there. Scroll down the page and there is a video made at last year's.
And another: http://www.croissantneuf.co.uk/ A few days ago, at least, they were desperate for stewards. They rang me up three times and begged me to work there, but I had to turn them down because we are moving house.
I'm just saying to my housemates in the UK, that you can forget about the Olympics and the city and get out to the smaller friendler festivals and have fun. If you can get work rather than buying a ticket, it gives you a temporary "family" to camp with and work with, an opportunity to make friends, and the best of all, once you are on someone's crew list (provided you don't mess up!), they will likely ask you back for every festival they do. That means that you will often be working with people you know and making real human relationships. The shifts are usually about 4 or 5 hours a day, the rest of the time is yours. You usually get a day off completely during the festival. But even when you are working, you are still at the festival! You usually work in exchange for a ticket (and sometimes meals as well). If you are looking to get paid work, you probably need to chat up the commercial outlets, such as cafes, etc.) There is the opportunity to meet people involved in various projects, such a building straw bale houses etc, and people in communities and communes. I'm just just putting all this out as an suggestion, if you want it to happen, you can find a way.

Im seriously considering it! I'd need to see if I could sort something out with babyp as I doubt she would be able to work with me! I'll speak with fair, see if he is up for it too because I really am, I'm in need of something like this, to get away from all the stress over here and make some real friends! Thanks Stillcrazy for sharing, its inspired me to do something! Or at least try
