Yeah I think so too Ty , First time I have ever heard it solo . Always loved that song , it was treat for me to hear this version .

 

Jimi recorded everything... even when not in the studio he used a cheap tape player/recorder. But that was studio, by the sound quality.

 

Yeah no doubt it's studio quality . I think it's a studio demo . the original song came off the cry of love lp . And I think it was released as a single too , and failed in the U.S. charts .

I would guess it came off the late 90s album his estate put out . Which did feature , unheard studio versions and diff. variations of some of his tracks . I never got it or even heard it ,but I would guess that's where this version came from .
