What if you enjoy a big ring and a big wedding

I agree. I don't care about the ring (I'd be happy if he had proposed for real with the one I'm wearing now, it's just a simple band with half heart on it and the words "True Love"). But he wants us to be financially stable before making a big step. I wish money had no bearing on it.

then you should propose to him, if you think you're ready for it.

the way your country's economy is going right now, you might have to wait the rest of your life to become financially stable. if you love him and want to spend the rest of your life with him, then don't wait. who the fuck knows what will happen tomorrow, or next week? don't wait for the perfect situation, because it probably isn't going to come.

I said that to him before, but he wants to live together and be stable first. I understood but he's so adamant about it I don't think he'd say yes if I asked. He'd probably say not now.

then go right ahead, if it's within your means. but if it isn't, why wait?

    That's cool!

This will be the second wedding I've been to, but first time being a bridesmaid. The first wdding was my mum and dad's wedding, which was very small. She got her wedding dress from a second hand store for about $30 and it was beautiful. It was purple and made of lace and such.

Then there was my dad's sisters wedding, which was in a massive church. It was very traditional as his side of the family is Italian. Personally I preffered the smaller wedding; my sister and I were flower girls and my brother was a ring boy. My dad had two best men; a guy he'd been friends with since they were young, and his dog :)

I can understand where your boyfriend is coming from when it comes down to wanting to wait till you're both financially stable, but I agree with eggsprog as well. If it's love, then who need's to wait, y'know?

Oh and another good thing that's happened lately is I've decided what do get a friend for her birthday, and what I want to get my brother for his birthday as well. Friend get's a sex toy and my brother get's a ticket to soundwave. :2thumbsup:

EDIT: Actually, it'll be the third wedding. I forgot the last one I was a plus one at my friend's old roommate's wedding. Maybe it's unsurprising I didn't remember at first considering I'd taken full advantage of the free jug's of booze =P

Yes, smaller weddings are more personal! I haven't been to one but I imagine the simpler ones are nicer. It's supposed to be about the love, not "oh my god, they must have spent a fortune on these decorations!"

And when it comes to my boyfriend, he's a stubborn Leo. lol I know he wants to spend his life with me, but he's not the impatient type that I am. He wants everything to happen at the right moment and the way he has in mind and at times it makes me feel like he's just putting it off because he doesn't want it, but I know that's not the case.
