comparing antiques roadshow to hardcore pawn is like comparing a tv dinner steak to a medium rare rib eye bbq steak
I have never watched Hardcore Pawn, but I agree with The Rat based on the promos I've seen. Another exploitation show. The History channel, which used to be pretty good, excels at these things. Cheap to make, good rating draws. Pawn Stars is interesting because of the objects that come through the door, but the owners bother me, the kids especially seem to be spoiled know-it-alls. And I hate the scripted little "confrontations" they have. Antique Road Show is a quality show, it could only exist on PBS.
Antiques Road show is really interesting, especially when someone brings something in that WAY- WAY exceeds their expectations. Side note-kinda. I met a guy in Vegas that owned a service station when I and another dummy ran off to try out our system on the crap tables. He showed me what-all he had in his garage and his back yard that people had traded for gas to get home from Vegas. It was unbelievable. Don't ask about my system.
