We have been a little inflicted by public criticism that we Godbrothers do not work together. My Guru Maharaja wanted also us to work together but some how or other it hasn't happened up until now. So your program of cooperating with Madhava Maharaja is not so important. Best thing is that all we Godbrothers work together. Then the criticism will stop, otherwise even we join together, criticism will go on. So this has been going on for the last 24 years, but everyone of us is doing his best keeping Lord Caitanya in the center. We should be satisfied so much.

You should not write anything to Madhava Maharaja's camp. You may have talked many things with Mangala Niloy but why write him in black and white. The letter must not be sent. But do Christians listening to Jesus when he says: Thou shalt not kill! Of course not, they eat meat!!! They may say, of course I love God and bla bla bla, but what is that, what it really means? The Pope he has all kinds of meat deliquatesses for lunch ( I read this). Is he a representative of Jesus Christ? No, he's a first-class cheater! You know as well as I do that no body is perfect...we can try our best to avoid Maya...but we are not perfect...

We can be aware, that is what I think you are leaning more toward...If we are aware that Maya is there then we can do our best to avoid her...its gradual and many people spend their whole lives trying to avoid her all together...but I'm sure that there are many times when you have given in (even slightly)...I have myself...most of us do...its harder to avoid in this day and age...but at least you are aware that its there...and that just helps a load...

The thing about the Christians not eating meat...Jesus didn't say "Thou shalt not kill..." (just so you know, I'm not yelling at you or anything...), it was Mosaic code...but regardless nonetheless...most Christians believe and are taught that humans are more important that animals because we can think and what have you...so they modify...that's how most of our church systems were made...but modification for politics, culture, and tradition... if we followed the exact words of Jesus it wouldn't be much different than following in the words of Krsna...but people adapt it to their time and place...that's the true differences of religion in the end.... So, you can't seriously blast anyone...no...you hate people for ignorance...they are only what they are told to be... why do we know about Krsna Consciousness?...because we found that that was what the Lord had led us to be...and people could not like that...but it is the path we choose and in the end, it is as I believe Kumar said, that all rivers lead to the source... We can embrace the one but only as well as we can, it is truly hard to be close to perfect in this day and age....but with embracing the Lord...comes embrassing His people...I believe it was Jesus who said "Love the sinner not the sin"...

Definetely. Srila Prabhupada, he was perfect and he offered us very precise intructions how to be perfect ourselves. Didi you read what he said about this Narayana Maharaja? You post his quote, of course it sounds nice, but it's from a wrong person. That is maya. I'm telling you -this is maya. That's what I'm doing. I'm not blaming anyone for giving in. I'm blaming for advocating maya -that's all. But it's not me, it's Srila Prabhupada, who blames them.
Christians, well I don't know much about them, but I know that it is in the bible -who's doing something to my children, it's like he's doing it to Myself -that's what God says, so there are many examples. its amusing how sleeping jiva says how his hare krishna understandings are not a religion and yet all of his responses are dogmatic postulations without a self introspective context...parroting...like a parrot squaking words in its cage...repeating things without understanding

such are the bi-polarities of maya that have bind one to conditioned existence...that which has come to free becomes another tie that binds

truly Vaishnava philosophy is not a religion but one can make mistakenly try to make it so

Sleeping Jiva is not a lunatic, he is saying the truth. The problem with him is that he is not yet self realized, but he acts in such a way that he wants to be... therefore he appears as if he is a lunatic even when he is not.

I read a few of his posts and I realize that the problem here is not him and it is definitely not Gdkumar or anyone. The problem here is your attitudes.

Try to understand people as humans, relieve yourself of duality. There is nothing wrong in praising one another along our paths, what is the truth? - it is something that is with in us- that which drives us from the animal life to the divine.

Truth to all of us is relative. What you think is true to you and to your consciousness is the truth. What you think is false is false.

 

This is wholly unacceptable. If we turn to God, then we can know the ABSOLUTE TRUTH. This is because above the field of relative truths (maya) is the Absolute truth, God, in his aspects of Brahman, Purusottama, and Patamatman. This is all very basic teaching from the Gita.

What an idividual thinks is truth is not necessarily truth in any objective sense. The ordinary mind is part of Maya, and is not the faculty of Consciousness that is capable of knowing the Truth of God. Only the illumined mind of the seer can know this.

Also, if it were so that 'what you think is false is false' I would only have to think that Krishna is false to make that so. And then clearly, Krishna could not be either the Absolute himself, or even a representative of it.

Krishna= Krish- that which is joyful, attractive, ever blissful, most oppulent.

na- that which is the end of all, the all in all, the absolute truth.

The very meaning of it is... "The all attractive one, who is the end and all in all the absolute truth"

With that said, I hope you have a different view of this.. if not, its alright, no harm done. Whether you call the supreme , God, higher being, "that which IS" , "self", "krishna", it doesnt matter.

I agree with you though that the absolute truth is up there, yes. I agree with almost everything you say.
When I said, truth is relative I meant:
What i think is the truth , is the truth for me. What you think is the truth is truth for you.

What I think is false is false for me, what you think is false is false for you. The only time the truth changes to false and false changes to truth is when you decide to do it. If some one else tries to do it for you, that is egotistical behavior.
Yes, what I think and what you think is the truth or false might not be necessarily the Truth or Lie, but for you and me it is.

When you combine everyone's truth, there is a giant reality and may be that is "Absolute truth"- krishna.

there are two sources of the truth: within and without. Within in the form of Paramatma(supersoul), without in the form of spiritual master and sastras (Bhagavadgita). the both are equally important for understanding Krishna.

 

The idea that there is 'my truth' and 'your truth' is the thing I can't accept.

But let me explain that by this I don't necessarily mean the formulation of the truth in the mind of the individual. As the Absolute Truth, Krishna is inconcievable - ie not reducible to a mental concept. The mental concept one forms of anything is not the thing itself- the idea of Krishna in the mind is not necessarily Krishna, or even an accurate mental representation of Krishna.

Krishna cannot be known by mental speculation. So says Srila Prabhupada. Only by devotion and surrender.

But the knowledge of Krishna is Vijnana, a form of knowledge above that of the speculative intellect, with its mass of warring conceptions.

The Absolute truth would by definition be identical to all. But according to their mentality and learning etc, their mental conceptions of it would vary.

The Absolute truth can't be a combination of collective truth as you suggest, but must be something wholly independent of the collective mentality of humans. Certainly this is the teaching of the Veda.

 

Yes, you are absolutely right, but for me, it is quite hard to surrender to my Guru, he doesn't even know I exist though I talked to him a few times. He has alot of people following him... my guru is Chinna Geeyar swami and he says almost the samethings my heart tells me.

Therefore , it is not hard for one to realize the absolute truth, even if he is the most lowest of mankind he can rise above and live in peace at the feet of the lord, when he shows his mercy.

For me, I am a fan of karma yoga- the action in Krishna consciousness.

Sometimes people fight by saying Jyana is the best, some people say no- bhakti and action in bhakti- action in krishna consciousness is the best... but in truth my heart tells me, the living being who follows one path faithfully, gains the benefits of both and ever lasting peace.

yes, absolute truth is independent of everything, but everything is dependent on the absolute truth. Therefore, truth is dependent on absolute truth. The combination of all the truth, will give us the mercy of the absolute- who gives you the real absolute truth. therefore, the absolute truth= collective truth. Because everything is dependent on the truth, it is right for us to conclude that the truth that everyone perceives is only "true" because of the mercy of the absolute truth, krishna.

Krishna is full of mercy, therefore if you surrender to krishna, he will show you the way by which you can reach him.

 

The idea of Krishna is Krishna, there's no such thing as idea of Krishna!!!!! There's no representations of Krishna!!!!!
