zen ... i rank the gathering almost solely on the energy on the 4th so based on that alone is why i say that vermont was the best out of all ive been to, and based on that factor alone many ive spoken to who have never missed a gathering since the 1st had agreed
ofcourse theres always a reason to find fault with 1 site or another if its too buggy or muddy or the leos bother ya or a snake crawls into your tent or a spider bites your ass...
you can never be totaly satisfied with every gathering../especialy if you concentrate on the faults

nc for instance was my 1st
and yea i got sick as hell like most people
but also had some incredibly magical experiences and saw some amazing sights that had not been repeatted in any gathering since
so it could be concifdered a disaster..or a great gathering depending on how you choose to view it

tenn and kentuky would be interesting too as i dont think i ever went to one in either state (well i think the 1 i showed up at as the very last people were packing out to leave may have been in tenn, but since i was only there less then 1/2 an hour it doesnt count..that was a regional anyway)

id like to suggest that new england would possibly have the strongest support from local fdamilies.. ny vt and nh family has remained fairly active and wasnt hurt as much by lack of east coast gatherings as pa oh de and maryland areas had
but then again maybe thats a reason pa would be great to get local energy going again in the midatlantic region
but wether its in marf or nerf teritory both regions would pull together to combine efforts im sure
im just being honnest that marf has suffered alot of losses and doesnt have as much activity now as nerf..so one has greatter resources the other greatter need..
i cant speak for the tenn kentuky area though as im totaly unaware of the situation there.

I think it's wonderful how you look at the gatherings. Me, I'm a bit more pragmatic. I tend to look at the whole gathering and how it may affect the Family.
Now that I'm into this whole thing pretty deeply and many people look to me for guidance, I am compelled to consider the whole.

NERF is a very strong tribe and would be a great host. So is Philly family. I also know of Md. Family's troubles. Have faith they'll heal!!

AND...when the hell am I gonna see your gympy ass again??? Last time was either Ark. or W.Va.
(you know I mean no harm by the gymp comment...I AM part of Old Tom's Gymps-R-Us...LOL!!)

I was originally hoping for Oregon or Montana, but the idea of the next gathering in the Northeast or South sounds like a good choice and a nice change of pace. I have a lot of family roots in Kentucky, so that would defiantly be an interesting experience to celebrate the Gathering there if it was chosen.

Whatever the decision is, I'm definitely happy. I just hope I'll be able to make it! I live in California, so it's going to be a long drive.

Hoping you make it. I'd love for West Coast Family to prove me wrong. My sincere apologies await!

Vermont was one of the biggest I've been to and also one of the best (100 kitchens and so much food that I feared gaining weight even hiking 10 miles a day...). NC had a bad problem with sickness that was blamed on Rainbows even tho when we got home to WV the same sickness was rampant here too. So that will probably not happen. The land there was quaranteened after the gathering... PA has already had 2 and not all that long ago, but a nice place. WV is probably too soon and law enforcement here has a BAD corruption problem. KY would be due, as the last KY gathering was the split gathering where over half went to Arkansas. NH might be interesting. I've never been there. But I have always wondered why never in NY? I know, the cops there are probably horrid and a lot of the people are too (I lived there 19 years) but the LAND would be perfect for a LARGE group.

    Hi Folks,
Just back in babylon from gathering site. I dont care if NW family likes it or not, I dont care if NERF doesnt want to be involved, I dont care if one of the kitchens sd they wouldnt go east of the Missisip, East coast needs a gathering!

Clean-up has gone well and quickly. When we first drove into the site, I was in awe of the rocks! All colors, we were on top of a giant crystal mountain, I sd to myself,"This is the land of Rainbow". I wont be online much, so dont bother trppin on me, just wanted to say Howdy! Lovin you family!

The split Gathering of '93 was Kentucky & Alabama. Me'n'JuJu did 2 weeks at each site. Personally, I liked the landscape in Alabama better but both places had folks with wonderful energy.

love to see it in Ky b/c I live here, but to be honest we have really harsh leo's here, Maybe Tn might be a better choice. Dont really care where it wil be at me and my crew will be there. Hopefully slinging some tea. What time is it?

all these comment about harsh LEOs being in one state or another. hell, the LEOS are harsh everywhere. i just don't feel the harshness of LEOs should be a determining factor in chosing a gathering site. government authorities are gonna be an asspain no matter where the gathering happens. always has ... always will.

Ya know, I havent addressed this publicly.I guess it's time. In Wyoming when they decided at vision council to do N.M., wich was needed after what they pulled the yr before after Arkansas at the regional in N.M. It was sd we would go east. Now we did the south, we been west ALOT! Yeah there was the PA.'s, but it has been since 1991 since we were in New England. Many of our elders have died without bein able to attend due to heights, travel, ect. The mountains are very old, so not as high, there is water. We dont have the numbers we used to.We can fit inside a square mile for meadow. It used to be North,East,South, then West. New England needs the love too. I think we need to go to Wa. after New England. But then again, it's very rare anyone ever listens to me. As for LEO's, and the cops, their a pain everywhere. Thats there job. It's our job to spread the love light, always! True Rainbow Warriors go here there and everywhere! It is time to bring the gathering home to New England.

I got into it with SE over this a while back, and if you look at where the Gatherings have been, it just ain't so.
I went to thet little regional in NH a couple months ago, and I can say that the Nerfies are ambivalent about that, mostly because NERF kitchen is just about completely dysfunctional now.

Now?? From my vantage point it's been that way for a while. Tis a shame. Lots of fine folks from NERF.
