Hate to tell you, but that ass-monger, God, inflicts me with asthma every once in a while. I read a book about taoist yoga once which reccommends, at a certain stage of practice, shoving a cork up the asshole to prevent farting, which can evidently mean loss of chi, or vital force.
NB - I haven't tried this, and don't intend to.
