I will say I don't care about this, but I will mention it in several other threads, because I'm passive aggressive like that!

 

People bring up old stuff on all forums all the time. Forum is forum, there are none really different, sept not all are like this one which is cool with all the free speech and tools it has. Best one I have ever been on yet. Thanks Hip Forums!

I think that's putting it mildly. And maybe it is that mild in some instances but there's a certain problem where some people like to argue and debate just for the sake of arguing and debating. It's provoking, disruptive and unnecessary.

Is it an internet thing? Probably.

It takes two to keep a debate or argument going so if it is one that becomes a circle conversation all it takes is one to stop.

I don't think it is only an internet thing as those who probably consistently do it also do it in real time. There are some who simply feel they have to have the last word.

I think it's Internet and real life for some. Problem on Internet is people forget they are now not dealing with a spouse, family member or friend and when it's not face to face and many can become involved it's a whole different ball game.
When you let your true colors fly off the handle on Internet it's like doing so on a street in front of a lot of people who become your audience. There is no going back, it's there forever and some people hate that later so as the argument gets worse it makes them angry and they want to fix it more which doesn't always end up the result.
Many times others come in and it just gets really messy. At least if you did it on the street it can be forgotten, (unless someone has a cell phone and is quick to catch it) on the web it can be found many years later and even brought back to the front lines again, even out of archives if copied and carried on a new thread. If we plan to stay long we should play nice because laundry is only clean for so long then the dirty stuff is there again.

 

Sometimes it depends on the stuff.
I rarely forget when someone is being flat out racist or homophobic.
I mean, I've said some douchey things on here. We all have our moods but that's just not really a good excuse to cross the bigotry line, in my books.

 

Sure does take two .. however, my ignore list has grown to three rows! And quite a few of them are like a flock with each other. At that point, it isn't an issue between two people but becomes something of a clan or gang.

If somebody here has such a problem with me, let them use some maturity and deal with me directly. Otherwise, it's typical internet battlefield .. something I've grown VERY tired of.

 

I have to admit I have never used the ignore button, except once. The reason why is because once on a site that I did you could see who posted and peek with the click of a button and yet they would still be on ignore. Once I hit the Sneak a peek button I realized really quick how Great that option would be for me,,, not very great at all. So I never bothered again because I knew there was nothing they could say that would really leave bruises, cut my skin or break my nails and I would look anyway because really, I like the battle more then not knowing what some douche bag was gonna try to diss me or someone else with.
The one I put on ignore was always coming in for a fight with someone, and even with himself because he was using two accounts. He was finally caught once we called him on it and the mods checked and that to me was far better then having him on ignore a long time wondering what he was up to and ho he was hurting.

 

I always overcome my enemies by studying their habits, then mimicking them and finally defeating them in battle after which I consume their heart and gain their powers.

It gives me the shits the next day, but I feel it's worth it.

Yup. I have. But I noticed it right away in January / early February, when THREE males made verbal assaults. And I have those verbal assaults in my rep comments and PM's. Entirely unprovoked and unwarranted. They're not enemies, they're just internet battlefield warriors.

I also noticed that the awards icon keeps jumping back & forth from me and Irm. I had it, then it went to her, now it's back to me. Weird.

 

You're kinda making Heat's point here. By continuing to talk about the thumbs, it just feeds into the people that are thumbing you down because you're reacting in one way, shape or form and that is the 'goal' of trolling.

Is it juevenile? Sure. But you have the means to make it end and to even do so without sinking to thier alleged level but it rarely seems to be the route taken.

 

There is a medicine to control the shits from this kind of behavior, it's called Aciphixorall.
It's only used in this case tho, not for all bowel issues.
If you have heart problems, don't use Aciphixorall, if you have runny nose don't use Aciphixorall,,,, Ok we know all that stuff.
