i agree with this actually, although it's not necessarily worse, it is just as bad though.

i appreciate you feeble attempts though:)

I don't buy it because it's logically flawed.

hoe about you go find a nice vegetable, and we can go get. I dunno, we'll go with someone pretty mainstream and say hugh laurie

the vegetable can do rowing against mister laurie (for the kinesthetic test)
Can do an I.q. test for the intellect
Can play a level of asteroids for the visual spatial
and can be left in a room with fifteen randomly selected people and see who strikes up conversations fastest for the social

your theory is as broken as the "this or that" multiple intelligence tests of the 1970's

feelgood crap then, feelgood crap now.

I strive for unconscious competence in everything I do. Intelligence is power.

I wasn't speaking to their ability to learn that knowledge Dave, I was speaking to whether or not they choose to grab the opportunities presented.

The most disabled (conscious) person has the ability to learn in some manner... it doesn't matter one single bit as to whether or not they choose to do so..

Going by your theory in life this would be good advice...

For those that recognize that there are actual facts that cannot be argued with, it is complete bullshit...

Seriously, what kind of mental mushroom are you??

You are typing, (a skill that came from knowledge), using a computer (another knowlede based skill), in a language that is also a knowledge based skill....

    arguing that knowledge is pointless....

that was to mary, not stacy...

Someone with an I.Q. of 20 doesn't have a choice.

    they lack the capacity.

While I wish I could argue this point with you Dave, I can't seems I have never been a person with an I.Q. of 20, nor have I ever met or heard of any.

What I have also not ever met, is a person who was unable to learn anything, who was conscious. Just because some may not have the capability to learn high end quantum physics, does not mean they don't have the ability to learn anything.

I disagree. they're still learning. maybe not in ways you and I learn but they still know whats going on and you can still teach them. believe me I worked with disabled kids and it may take a while but they eventually grow a little more every day

Raise your hand if you've spent time working with profoundly retarded children (to the point where you taped your deoderant on the roof to hide it from the pica kids)

    *raise hand*

Great kids, but capacity to learn isn't there for some of them.

some of them, absolutely is, and it's more their parents holding them back than anything, but, some it's not.

So, what you are saying is that they lay there like a log, make no sounds, make no motions and never give any response to anything that isn't animal based??

Just because you may not respect their ability to learn dave, does not mean it isnt there.

I still disagree. I worked with many kids with cerebral palsy and other worse disabilities. yes they cant function well enough but they still know what is going on. like your deodorant, yes it may seem silly to you but they are interested in what it is, dave

    *raises hand*

these children are spiritually intelligent beings, and while they may not be able to articulate it in a way that we are familiar with they do not lack ability to learn...they lack ability to communicate what they learn.

    more hippie crap right?!

not everything is based on logic and reason, and that was my point whether or not I expressed it the way i wanted to.

there are many things in this world that have no reason or logic, things beyond even the most intelligent person's scope of comprehension...to think that we are superior to anyone else because of what we know or don't know i think would be doing ourselves a great injustice.

    sometimes, yes.

sometimes, you have kids who learn to a point, and then, there is no more. it's capped, anything new might go into short term memory, but, then it's gone forever.

sometimes you have kids who can learn but their learning process is so slow, it is heart wrending.

so, REALLY? this, equal capacity, equal options thing?

    is bullshit.

we do not all have the option to learn about thermodynamics, we do not all have the option to learn calculus, or geometry, or algebra, or how to play the clarinet, or how to play football

    we are not equal.

    we are special.

but this equality crap has gone on too long.

Yes, spiritually intelligent is hippy crap.

especially since there are "spiritually intelligent" people with otherwise normal capabilities.

    your argument is flawed.

Now you are just spewing propaganda in support of your flawed argument.
