and it was quiet when he left, but things would have settled into something new. there are a lot of new people that come and go but SE is always here and when no one else can be bothered giving out advise he always does which is good. but it could scare people off too as he's so intense.

But maybe alot of people come & go because they get tired of SE's rants and judgements. Maybe we would get a new core group of people if things were more accepting here and we could all voice our opinions and experiences to the noobs equally, instead of getting into arguements with SE.

thats what I'm thinking too. in other news, I've just discovered a french movie on tv. it looks so gorgeous, obviously made by the same people as Amelie. Has that green and red thing going on and a few of the same actors in it. Don't know what it is though and I'm sleepy. Before I go to bed I wanna find out though so I can watch it w my husband when he's off work tomorrow^_^I loveee french film!

Was it The City of Lost Children or Delicatessen?

Also, re the advice soaringeagle gives...well I for one would certainly point out to people that growing dreads naturally should always be an option they consider, so in his absence I don't think that side of things would disappear or get no representation. However I wouldn't shove it down the throat of someone clearly stating that they want to backcomb or crochet or whatever, I'd just let them know about it incase they didn't.

Ew I feel grim this morning. I get such manky colds.

    agreed.
when people ask me for advice, the first thing i always say is that if they stop combing and using product, dreads will form and they can look kickass.
of course thats not for everyone so then i tell them about other methods.
i cant see why anyone would keep pushing the natural method on someone who, due to lifestyle or wants, chooses backcombing or something.

lol at tannaleigh. this thread reads my mind too.

*also wants to start using awesome words like manky*
