How about ditching the shackles of a supply and demand based eonomy? A state oil company coulld provide cheap petrol. Hell, you guys in the states are benifiting from venezuala doing that, as are the venezualan people. You cant use capitalism to solve capitalisms problems, you have to ditch it.
you can boost productivity by employing more people, not a problem with full employment. Inflation doesnt exist in a marxist society.
Chavez is nothing but Castro puppet also Chavez wants make sure if Venezuela turns on him or the U.S he can fly to Havana and exile there.
I have a hunch command economies are on there way back. While there is no doubt that they are less efficient, there is no doubt that they would be much better at controlling environmental damage.
well you cant ignore fact, china dobuild most products. Also, i would describe working in factories for some boss that reaps all the profit (despite the fact the labourers create the profit) as slave labour. Chavez is not as you put it 'a Castro puppet'. His political policy is not like that of Castro (ie no political prisoners). Your comments are biased and unfounded.
Back to the gasoline = Get a motorcycle most bike get at least 50 70 miles per gallon some even more with out any sacrefice any speed . scooters are geat for around town they get 100 miles to the gallon.
And traffic jams would be a lot more fun, too~ hehe Can you buy those multi-fuel motorcycles, or are they just military?
The laborers create nothing, they merely build.. There is a difference. What good is a bunch of dumb laborers if they have no one to tell them what to do?
How about laws against such gas price gouging? After all, it's unlawful for Home Depot or Lowe's to jack up the price of lumber and power tools at their stores in a disaster area, such as New Orleans last year after Category 5 Hurricane Katrina hit the area. But the oil companies got away with it doubling the price in one day to as high as $6.00 a gallon in some areas. Talk about redefining "highway robbery", which in this case the bandits were driving gas tankers.
What good is an engineer if there are no dumb laborers to impliment their designs? The inability of the masses to do other than what their betters tell them is the foundation of democracy and freedom. (Or is that "aristocracy and slavery"?) Who was more important: The guy who figured out the shape of the Pyramid or the folks that dragged the blocks up hill? Or the farmer's whose crops were taken by the pharoh to feed both the designer and the draggers. Or the Nile that made the farmer's land fertile? About gas prices, High gas prices might get people to think about how often they drive. Better public transportation is a better goal for political action than lower prices. (Getting even with evil petroleum CEO's is personaly satisfying, but for public policy it should be a side effect, not a determining factor.)
You're kidding right? communist countries have a MUCH worse environmental record... I'm not saying that capitalists don't pollute, far from it, but marxist systems always are trying to prove that they are as good as any other (they aren't), and usually end up taking a massive turd on the environment. Lookit 3 mile island and chernoybl, both were pretty much complete fuck ups of the system, in the capitalist case reinforced concrete and diligent inspectors, along with a mountain of regulations meant that only a small amount of radiation escaped into the local ecosytem, on par with living in a brick house. In the communist case a nuclear reactor was housed in what could only euphamistically be called a 'ware house', it's roof leaked, add in a meltdown and kaboom you have irradiated gas floating around europe, and a large section of the Ukraine that's still uninhabitable...
