You can think what you want. These pics aren't extremely impressive. I grow in a 3x2x7 spot, with a 250 hps, and managed 3 oz's off of two plants (that's 50 watts psi). Sorry if my tech abilities are better. I have stated that my current setup is far from impressive, but this isn't my first and only setup....I haven't always lived in a small apt. At least at overgrow people know what they are doing. You are afraid of it there because you are mediocre in comparison to most there. Keep acting like the king in a small village....putz.

    Smilingnolonger,

Stick to your story. And learn math.

    "I grow in a 3x2x7 spot, with a 250 hps, and managed 3 oz's off of two plants (that's 50 watts psi)."

How in the HELL do you figure that?

Are you talking about sq inches or feet or cubic?

    Do you know the difference?

You're a book depedent poser with one crop.
    You haven't gotten ANYTHING right.

He bit his tongue once again as light is measured per sq ft and not cubic ft.That worsens his boasts as that means he harved that feeble amount under 41.6 watts per sq ft,very weak yields in my experience.

I started this thread to get help for my plants and I appreciate the comments I have received, BUT....will you two knock it off? Who cares which of you has the best crop? I don't. I just wanted as much advice as I could get and I will sort through it myself. Get over yourselves already. Were you two married in a past life or something? Thanks again for all the help, but please take your squabble to a different thread so maybe people in my situation can get the help they need from this thread instead of listenig to you two bicker. Thanks.

Incandecents do not throw out a lot of heat like a halide or shp, try moving the light about 4 to 5 inches away from the tops.

Get a flourex bro- they rock!

My top leaves are now curling upward a bit (cupping?). I know they are not thirsty. Is it possible I have too much heat now?

If the tips are burned slightly, you are too close. But if they are just turning up, they are absorbing the light, and enjoying the day. Watch the tips for burning, and if you see any, move the light two inches higher, that should do the trick!

If your now four or five inches away ,they should just be soaking up the light.
dont forget you need to lift the pot to water- feel your way through that one. It gets real simple that way.If it is still heavy it probly does not need water.

Incandescents are merely inefficent- about 10% electric to light conversion.

Heat can be handled, but the electricity being burned is to a great extent wasted.

15 watts through a CF puts about 4 times the Lumens (light) of 15 watts through an incandescent.
That's four times the availible energy for the plant.

Also, incandescents have there spectrums altered by coating the glass on the bulb- thereby cutting down further on total light. And with the exception of green, the plant appreciates all light.

Yeah like they really arent very good lights, I cannot argue with geck one bit- incanecents suck. Yours mat be a spot grow , but still really only good for sidelighting. Try getting a hps, on e-bay, i got a 150w for 51 dollars after shipping was tagged on.

The compact flourecents are quite good as well.
