    hi all,

just wanted to give a quick update on justice. he seems to be doing better with his new iep in place. a few weeks ago his school taped the kids doing a play/dance, it was aired last night on the local access channel & we watched with justice. we watched both 3rd grade classes & i must say justice was AWESOME!!! he was VERY in control of himself - eventhough this was the first time he ever preformed in front of a large group. during the dance part he was also the only boy to keep the rythm & beat. nothing back on his referral to a specialist yet, but the different diet & behavior modification seem to be doing wonders. blessed be to all & peace....

    Great new, Twist.

I hope your son continues to improve. You got the IEP really quickly, that's good. Some schools stall foever!

Keep up the good work, honey.

Blessings to you and Justice and the rest of your family.

What you do is tell the school to fuck off. If they won't indoctrinate your kid unless you medicate him, say to hell with them.

I havent read through all the other posts..... but just from reading yours..he's 9.. he's still a kid... and he's a boy.. soo of course he's going to be jumpy and hyper and getting into stuff and disobeying.. thats what kids do... some places/peopl are to focused on solving a problem that was never there.... totally drives me nuts too..... just let your kid be your kid and dont slap him on some medication just cause some wanker with a college degree or whatever told you too......what did they do back in the day when kids misbehaved.... sure didnt have ritalin.....

haven't updated in a few days, J is doing very well, getting ready to plan his birthday party for next weekend. he's hoping that now that his behavior is in the stages of positive change his friends from school will acutally come this year. i hope so - a good turn out would be a good boost to his self esteem. 12 more days of school for him & then we work on behavior mod all summerlong to help get him ready for next year. peace to all

In high school, I developed an amphetamine habit that lasted into my 20's. I did other things but speed was always my drug of choice. I never had an addiction that ruined my life as they say but I always did it. I kept it under control for the most part. I decided though that I didn't want it to be with me so I kicked the habit.

As far as herb helping focus, I would have to say that it depends on the circumstances. I have always been able to put more focus into artistic endeavors with herb but at the same time withdrew into myself & became uncommunicative if it were to work that way for me. Other times smoking was just a party thing & didn't seem to make much difference with focus.

Coke felt good but didn't have the same attraction. I also saw people around me messing up their lives because of it so I purposely kept it at arms reach & only dabbled with it.

These days I don't do anything any more. I smoke if someone offers it but other than that I don't seek out drugs. I even quit coffee about 2 months ago & have avoided caffeine too.

here's what i think. not to be a jerk.

    1. step away from the forums and stop asking people on here for advice on how to deal with your child and your child's situation, i can't help but think in the end a self respecting mother would learn how to raise a child over the internet by what some random people think.

    2. ADHD doesn't exist. pharmacies need money so government will just keep telling kids they've got problems.
