Just a week ago my friends and I were hanging out downtown when someone we knew who was a tad emo wanted to hang out
All of his friends were goths, omfg they just complained about everything
Asking for attention worthless fuckers

They just try to show off how they cut themselves and how they hate their parents and vice versa
Now I'm not saying I hate people who cut their wrists, they probably have traumatic damage, molested or neglected and need help, I don't know what I'd do in their situation
BUT
I'd say about 80% of people that claim that they cut themselves are just another member of the goth emo group that just want people to feel bad for them, they need internal conflict always, individualism thats why they all 'hate' their parents

Members of any group who think they need to wear their personalities on their sleeves so that people will see just how different they are piss me off. Trying to get as far from the norm as possible to show your individuality is retarded.

On the other hand there are people who dress in ways we find weird because it really is who they are. If you put on "goth" clothes and look at your self in the mirror and think you look good, then all the power to you. If you look into the mirror and see yourself through other peoples' eyes and think "Everyone who sees me today will know just how different I am!" then you're a dictionary definition poser.

People who dress like hardcore hippies are comparable (like someone said ealier), but they're more accepted in general. Authentic hippies were about living how they wanted to live, which included dressing as comfortably and (in other's eyes) quirkily as they wanted.

People in general depress me a lot of the time. Maybe that's why I feel more like a goth than any other category, although I ultimately am an individual. I was in love with a goth girl for 2 years. Have recently met another who seems like a very cool human being. Why is there a problem at all? If you were talking about Neo-Cons I would see it differently, you know?

 

Haters You dont wanna be messed with dont mess with anyone. I dunno why people involve themselves in other peoples shit for real you wanna dress like a gangsta and listen to rap do it. You wanna listen to Stoner Music and be high all the time do it. You want to be a hippie and live your life the way you want then do it. No one should judge anyone cause im sure everyone does things they know are embarassing and people wouldnt understand but they are completely fine with it. Just dont hate

Goth is NOT depression, it is NOT anything listed here by all of you who know nothing, but yet hate.
While everyone has their own opinion of what goth is, it boils down to music.. Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Sex Gang Children, The Cure ect.
I myself dress in 17-18th century styled clothing before I knew what goth was... and you know why? BECAUSE I LIKE IT *gasp* why is that such a hard concept to grasp? I happen to be Victorian Goth because of my likes, not because I like goth, but just because it so happened to fit to me. The subculture is filled with very intelligent people, and artists, and we have every right to dress as we please..
whoever talks about depression just to look cool, or TRIES to fit into the subculture, are FAKES.
So I've explained why we dress...
Whats the point with YOUR likes then?
oh, and, high school "goths" are aka Poseurs or Babybats or Mallgoths, which all 3 correlate to each other.
But High School students in general are retarded anyways (not all though)
