Okay guys... Drew... last night was a no-no. I CAN NOT have anyone calliing my house while I am here in Dryden, okay? Do NOT call the house. My parents do not know about Highway child, and they can not know. Don't mean to sound angry, but that was baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad. Okay, so NO calling. WHen I get to Thunder Bay I will post a phone number where you can get a hold of me. From now on, if there is a meeting and you want me there, send me an email... I was going to go on MSN anyways... but the computer went weird... Anyways. NO CALLING. I can't stress that enough.
you see you have to tell us that, im sorry I hope I didnt cause any issues in the house. althoug its does raise convcern, you are 19 right? so it doesnt matter , though the last thing we want is a man hunt for a bug purple bus becuase someones kids took off with a band of gypsies the reason we allow a lower age limit in canada is because in my understamnding it is ore acceptable for a someone that age to travel, I hitched all over canada since well before I was 14 but frequently after I turened 14 and I never experienced a problem, My parents also new I could handle my own and I told them wheer I was and called regularly... I remember when I was 16 my curfew was sept please folk if you are interested in tribe life dont sneak around, though vana you have already donated and have been voted tribe by the rest of the group we will respect your wishes, you ar of age you can make your own descisions. we brought up a saying last night just becuase we wander does not mean we are lost we are wanderers, not runaways HUGE difference peace. I put that out there not to contradict or in anyway belittle you vana, but to emphisisie what we are and to make sure we dont have issues with frantic parents
Okay so as we all know things have just been changing and morphing since the start...Right now, we're basicly all in completely different areas and situations, i think we were all hoping to have this bus on the road by now or at least close to being out there but as i said things have changed. Drew is in Vancouver now working his ass off, Vana is leaving for TBay in a few weeks, and we've somehow just come up with a new killer plan. I think getting the tribe together is one of the main focuses at this point, personal opinion maybe but either way, the plan we've come up with is to get a Highway Child house. Rent that is...Just somewhere we can all be together and hopefully get things moving a little more productively. We're thinking it's going to be stable place for all of us to be at this point, it'll give us a chance to get used to eachother and all, also we'll be able to attract the right people a little more easily and hopefully help out a few others in the process. So, we'll all be together in this house, hopefully we've all got some kind of income with part-time jobs or something so we can get the bus to Vancouver a little more effectively, and we finally finish up whatever needs to be done on it. We're just going to wait and see how things go in between before and go with the flow of things, no dates are being set, actually i don't think any dates are ever going to be set again ahah, but this is where we're hoping to be headed right now. I didn't get too much into details, this is just a basic idea of what we're up to, figured some of you might like to know, who knows maybe this whole house thing will attract a new soul... peace angela
Drew: My parents are not supportive in 'my hippy ways'. It's a sad truth. I've learned to accept it and work around it for the last several years. Yes, I am of age, they can do nothing. But for these last 2 weeks while I am still at home, I do not want any sort of negativity or animosity while I am here, and certainly telling them my plans would create such an atmosphere. The last thing that I want to do is to leave on bad terms. I can not stress enough that they would not trust you or what we, The Tribe, are doing, not matter what was said to them, by you or by me. I will not be leaving them in the dark, though. When I leave T-Bay to come to the communal Tribe house, or whatever the plan is at that point in two weeks, I will tell them my plans very thoroughly. I've convinced Jay of this fact, I think. He was concerned too. Of course, my parents will still be intensely concerned about my safety and health, but they will accept it at that point. I will be out of their house and from under their roof, and therefore, their rule. Drew, I do not mean to be preachy or whatever, but you do not know my parents. Do not make assumptions of them or my situation based on what your life was like. I know I sound like a complete bitch saying that, but it is how I feel and it's the truth. Please, Drew, respect my decision and believe that I will in the end do what I believe is the right thing, though misguided it may seem at this point. Angela: Right on, girl! You summed up everything pretty effing good I'd say. Personally I am pumped for the prospect of this communal house. It sounds awesome. I was pretty obsessed w/ finding a commune for about a year and a bit. I think this will totally help us find more people for the Tribe, and help us all to become a close knit group. I really hope the house thing pulls through. (And again, Drew, if I sounded bitchy or nieve, sorry...)
yeah I understand vana, I didnt intend to come accross harsh or to persume everyones life is the same, many many many times we have had parents of grown 25 year old kids frak out...its a common occurence, you are 19 your free to do what ever you like, I was more putting it out there for others, it just brougt up a point thats all... feel free to be bitchy if your upset, you dont hav eto walk around on eggshells for my account, I didnt think you came accross bitchy at all though! peace
Hey, Drew, we're in the talks of making a meeting for sometime next week... Tuesday is looking fine for the majority of us. Have talked to Angela, Rick and Josh. So we'll all be on then.
Stuff we're discussing: (because we'll all forget otherwise, lol) - rules - rules on money - the house (getting it, where, blah). what the people not in van can be doing to contribute to looking for the house. - should we bring anything to van? i don't know what 'anything' is, but... we're trying - thongfest -
Stuff we're discussing: (because we'll all forget otherwise, lol) - rules no drugs no horidng no attacking tribe members, or stealing (Keep the law off the bus) Ie dont steal from walmart or vandelize anything - rules on money Basicly all money made is communla and you are ecpetecd not to spend any of your outside cash on stuff ( if we are all hunrgy and you are eating stakes thats no community!) we make 3 peices of hemp a day and that is required. all the cash made from that is spent on the tribe, Sometimes we fly sighns or busk, for that the first 60$ gose to the tribe fund the extra is yours to keep When tribes members buy smokes/beer/weed a sumon of money is given to those that dont partake to buy say extra snacks or sometthing. for instance when we hit mephis i had 26$ to take on the town! - the house (getting it, where, blah). what the people not in van can be doing to contribute to looking for the house. Well as far as i know the van was a bust and curently we are looking for a house/apratment in the vancouver area, oh wait Van as in vancouver! of course, well as for contrubiting for that i suppose because drew is in the area he would be the best to search out places, As always funds are helpful - should we bring anything to van? i don't know what 'anything' is, but... we're trying Well id imagine bring anything that you would want to take on the bus as we are plannning to leaving from there So to echo my other advice, dont bring anything that you would hate to get broken, things get tossed around so it can happen, Also brings lots of socks! and undies iof you wear them, washes come few and far between - thongfest Havent heard about it but i got my 2x canadian flag thong ready!
thanks for the update jay. I think what vana was talking about since we are going to be in a house and not a bus for a little while and the jobs I have found for the tribe pay like 20 an hr we will be banking big time cash maybe more than we need...maybe, as such what are "needs" are differa bit from when we are on the road as well since we are in a houese and a housdew cant be pulled over as easily as a bus can drug rulles may chnage a bit as well....though I am still 100% against any harmfull addioctive drug...other then smokes. if we have three guys working at the jobs I have set out we will be pulling in about 4500 every two weeks or more, thats a lot. so the vote will be about if we keep the rulles when nomaidc to when we are somewaht stable........ though th erulless are always good to be posted for any readers who skim past those points..... peace oh yeah my boss has offered to pay the first month rent for our dwelling....WHICH ROCKS!!!! If we geta film crew3 again I cvote we add him to the film for advertisng and such, his motto is king of the road.... very fitting! so were in a much better situation then we were last night.... Ill be looking at crags list as much as possible, but if you all find suitable places email them and set up a time to view after 5:00 or on the weekends. I think we should have aplace occupied by next friday... I mean I better we have some of the south amarican affilate tribe showing up this week peace
Ah,right.... I think it was Rick who said there were like 9 to the tribe, and me and Angel were trying to figure out who the hell the extra people were... that makes sense... Yeah, in the ways of money, because we will all be pulling in a lot more cash now then when we will when on the road, there were concerns about what the extra money would be for. Me and Angela figured that we all contribute a fixed amount, the same for everyone, each month. The extra we keep? Everything must be equal. But it's no denying some will be making more then others (like if I go work at Timmy's vs. you construction kids... as it is "man's work", right Drew ). Anywho, I'll shut up, and put my 2 cents in at the meeting.
the same amount doesnt really amount to anything if someone is at timmies and the other is in construction that means one has a wholle lot for working the same hours and theother has very little for the same hours... I think maybe a precentage...or something...but Yeah Ill wait for the meeting.
