Personally, I'm worried about Congressman Anthony Wiener. He should have stayed away in Tennesee.

What tree did Perot and Trump shake? They were both billionaire demagogues who talked a populist line and opposed trade deals with Mexico. Perot never received any electoral votes, but he did get 19% of the popular vote in 1992 and 8% in 1996. Trump prevailed only as a result of the Electoral College. He certainly shook things up with his divisive rhetoric, and i'm sure he'll make a "huge" difference in office--one that I think the voters will come to regret. But the 1% will get richer, the 47% will get poorer, and the rest of us will be hanging on for dear life. Same old, same old.

It's like reading a condensed version of the entire years' talking points. Amazing.

Do you have any paragraphs to describe what an awesome job Obama has done?

See, those of us who aren't hard right or hard left don't share this polarizing perspective.

I think they both suck. But Obama has had his full 8 years to prove it. Now we get to see Trump prove it as well.

What's funny is watching everyone whine over Trump's "rhetoric" when most of what he has said was either misquoted (rather easy considering the way he stumbles in each and every speech) or taken wildly out of context (a charge that only seems to actually work with leftists). I admit I wanted change, but Obama didn't provide it. I thought Bernie made more sense, but the democrats turned on him like he was a leper. When it was obvious to see that Hillary's camp was pulling a Ted Cruz on Bernie, voting for her was out of the question. All that was left was the wild card. Oh well.

I guess people can keep crying about it for the next 4 years. That will be lots of fun to watch.

Or we can watch the trainloads of people Trump doesn't like get shipped off to the ovens in New Mexico. ut once that happens I'm pretty sure the destructive street protests, useless as they have proven to be, will be coming to an end. I think that will be the real marker, the day Trump takes away their ability to morph a protest into a riot.

But we have seen all of this before. And it always ends the same way.

Obama had eight years of Republican obstruction. He wasn't one of the greats, but in comparison to G.W. he didn't do nearly as much harm and commendably free of major corruption. So who is the competition? Nixon? LBJ?The Bushies? I think he stands out head and shoulders above that crowd. Trump, on the other hand, is nothing like a normal human being. He's the worst demagogue I think we've ever had in the presidency of this country, a world class grifter who apparently intends to govern without the usual protections against financial conflicts of interest, and he has a Republican Congress and soon a Republican Supreme Court to back him up. I don't expect those trainloads of people, but I do expect a rollback in gains made in civil rights and economic justice--and unless that's reversed, some day a possible collapse of what was once such a fine country. Make America crappy again!

Most presidents have decades of carefully crafted relationships in Washington, on both sides of the aisle. Like Hillary. When Obama made his big move he only had 145 days in Washington, he was a rookie. And was received like one. It wasn't just republicans giving him grief. Establishment democrats extorted every favor possible. Landrieux dragged her feet on the ACA until Obama agreed to a $300M bump. Supposedly to finance the exchanges.

I expected the republicans to be obstructionists, was anyone surprised by it? Hah!

But I was surprised how many democrats threw banana peels in Obama's path. Usually after an election all the democrats go back to their feudal kingdoms and fight amongst themselves till the next election. This time they stuck around, many licking their wounds for losing Hillary to the race card (of all things to use on the Clintons). Obama was wise to give her a top slot, but SOS was way over her head, it really was. Almost as if he was setting her up to fail.

The whole town is a shark pit.

But isn't Trump a bigger rookie? He's had no government experience at all.I don't know where you're getting the only 145 days in Washington. Wasn't he a U.S. Senator for over three years? (2005-Nov.,2008). Do you suppose race might have entered into his reception as a rookie? He even had the Donald questioning his citizenship! And some Trumpies still believe it!

I'm not sure the 'roof dwellers' are contributors of anything to anyone, they're mostly drones.

No argument there, Trump is probably the most dangerous rookie we could have next to Woodrow Wilson. I knew the citizenship issue was a total red herring from the start. If there was any possibility of truth in it the Bush family's creepy CIA connections would have ferreted it out. His time in Washington might be a tangent memory for me. I have to look into it, but that figure didn't appear from vacuum. And schizophrenics are not transdimensional.

  20. MeAgain forgot that Obama also flew in $65,000 worth of "pizza" and "hotdogs" for a private party at the White House. That must be a world record for most pizzas and hotdogs ever at a party.
