so if she's 16, she records, she just doesn't publicly sell a cd or sign a record deal until she's 18 or whatever age (is it 21 in TX?)....

as for the money and promotions there are many people i've seen around Austin who will produce low-run and low-budget cds from a master, it wouldn't be anything special but it would be marketable.

the promotions are easily handled with a photocopier or a deal with a photocopy place (somewhere independant might consider an advertisement on the flyers in lieu of payment) or even a deal with a bar/club/performance space ... it would just mean the promotional items being more low-key and underground.

The low-key ness and underground style advertising can be beneficial, more beneficial than glossy adverts in major newspapers or whatever. Especially given her style and her subject matter. There are plenty of hippie stores and head shops around the world (not just ones that support local artists, but stores all over the globe) that love to stock and advertise cds and artists that aren't publicly availiable or aren't signed to a record deal.

    http://users.wirefire.com/erthma420/

    her tunes are here.

    http://users.wirefire.com/erthma420/Tunes/tunes.html

they have been at this for years, they have there own recording studio, hell they even have there own venue..
please by all means ask her how much they make off there CD's.. they aint gettin rich,,they aint even makin enough to accomplish such a goal and they have contacts out the ass.

everyone thinks this will be easy for her.. the reality is it aint as easy as everyone makes it out to be..and for soaringeagle to be playing it the way he is is in my opinion shameful.

omg u meen soringeagel is a cult leeder?!?!!??! i alwayz new he waz truble!!!!! omg!!!!!! no body drink teh cool-aide, man!!!!

    lol :p

Anyhow, it's called optimism. You know what John Lennon's aunt told him? "The guitar is alright as a hobby, John, but you'll never make any money off of it." When he was rich and famous he got that quote framed for her. Not everyone is John Lennon, of course, but that doesn't mean it's wrong to try or to have faith in those who do. [IMG]

optimism is one thing. whats going on here is nothing more than a farce.

a 40 year old man has in my opinion no business trying to ride a 16 year old girls dreams to a place where he wishes to be..

this is NOT about woodstocks talents nor about her achieving her goals. its about one mans desire to benefit from her achieving her goals. its about a grown man insinuating that her dreams will be realized over night..

its just wrong in my opinion....

dont worry bout hippyhillbilly he always has to be the voice of negativity on every matter. its just how he is.
as for riding her coattails this dream is something we came up with together. & as for fer finances & whatever, her mom is 100% supportive of her doing this, & becomming emancepated in the process. emancipation takes the ability to show your able to be self sufficient. buying property, having an income & a plan on how she'll live the next few years is the easiest way to do that.
& as for the production of the cd's, her freind bob is already taking care of that.
hippyhillbilly i'm sorry you have such a low opinion of me based on nothing, but as usual your very wrong, very negative & you suck the life out of the thread with your negative attitude.
thanks for being the 1 person incappable of being supportive.
    as usual

Yeah, getting a college degree. What a ridiculous and stupid dream, huh?

You opened my eyes. Fuck college. I'll work as an electrician in the Hippie Theatre.

It's not about the college thing. It's about the lousy and very hard to realize american dream you have and the fact you're being rude about a dream someone else is trying to make real.
