That's the problem: a movement can't be based around drugs, even Thompson knew that. Despite all the positive influences of psychedelics, there is a great sea of people who can't handle that level of experience at all.

I really do think so kind of major youth movement may be in the works. Something based around free thought and opposed to dogma and political polarization. Really, nothing would make me happier in the world than to see modern America take a turn in that direction. However, the 60s were a special case, a coming-to-a-head of many different things and one of those happened to be LSD-25. Trying to recapture that momentum is probably doomed to fail quicker than the hippies did.

I want such a movement to take off, but it has to be organic, not chemically-induced or even popularly created, because then it would just turn into another hollow fad. Like supporting Ron Paul.

 

great moments in history were never created by the masses. they were created by a select few individuals riding a wave of the social issues at the time, capitalizing on them, and changing the world. you can bet that if there is going to be any kind of change it will be lead by a figurehead.

when and if the establishent falls, it's not going to be pretty.

 

I didn't realize it was a competition

 

My mom went to woodstock and didn't get high. Well she did get high from second hand smoke, but she didn't get high by herself. I'm pretty sure she was the only one there who didn't. She should of got a plaque. "Only person to come to woodstock sober"

Think about this, around the 60s towns were still segragated in some parts, there was still an ass load of racism around. Now our president is black! And our lambos are blue! And ill be god damned if my our rims aren't too!

all right again i stopped talking about this last year because no one under stood what im trying to do all right. im not trying to set up a group that's goin to protest against the government or whos goin to trying give drugs to there members to be " enlightened". i also understand that a movement like this can only be started by ones self. so what im searching for is anyone who has been enlightened by lsd use like i was because i know i used it and it opened up to how this world needs some guidance in the next 50 or 60 years so my kids can have a future. am asking this on this forum not to use lsd but because i know my fellow lsd user will understand me the best. now i want to start a group of evan 10 15 people who are determined to help there kids have a future. we need to be a group who is goin to become world wide knowen about our philosophy and come up with real guanine ways to help earth and its inhabitans to keep on living for years to come. if we dont do something the worlds goin to crumble and sacome to wars witch will kill all most all of us.
