Free love is being generous with love, giving love as a gift, and loving innovently and freely. Being a slut is when you use sex, have sex with people you have no feelings for and basically are so easy it would be harder to get a nymphomaniac to have sex with someone
I totally agree. I have an insane sex drive and I do sleep with more people than the average chick. But I don't sleep with everybody. I have been called a slut before when I'm really not. I just enjoy sex.

Ouch! Too bad this is closer to the truth than most women are willing to admit. Free love doesn't exist, because we've turned sexual pleasure into a commodity in this society. Pleasure for the sake of pleasure is frowned upon by the mainstream, and women risk being ostracized for expressing the desire to satisfy their libido in a natural and healthy way...but, I've been drinking, so I could be wrong. If I ever meet a truly liberated woman, I'll....fuck, what would I do? Marry her? LOL!
It all comes down on how you are being affected by one or the other label. If I met a "slut" and we hit it off nicely, then had a couple of rounds of good sex that satisfied both ... would that be so bad? And would it be different if you called it "free love"? It matters what's in the box, not what label you put on it. The expression "free love" actually means nothing to me. Love is always free ... or never, depending on how you look at it.
I think free love is a term best left in the 60s. Sex comes with responsibilities, from health concerns to pregnancy; if you don't recognize this and you spread your legs (or zipper) freely; then you are probably a slut(/scumbag).
And if you did recognize this and used protection would you then not be a slut/scumbag? You're quite right in saying that sex comes with responsibilities ... but to me that doesn't necessarily mean that I have to be in a relationship to get some.
I never said you had to be in a relationship. I just said you shouldn't spread your legs/zipper freely. Hell, you don't even always have to know the person. As far as using protection, that's a good thing to point out, my post wasn't fully clear I suppose. I consider any irresponsible sex to be slutty/scummy sex. Whether it's without proper protection, or you sleep around freely and hurt a lot of people emotionally, or you'll bed anyone when you're drunk. As long as you have some standards, some respect for yourself, some respect for others, and for the act; then you're good. :2thumbsup:
