rarely. they annoy me often, but then so do most types of people. some of them annoy the hell out of me, but some are pretty cool (olhippie, for instance) similarly the bulk of the ridiculous metal-loving "praise satan" types annoy the hell out of me too, and i think they are also simply trying to fill a stupid preset role for a member of a subculture....yet arlandis is a pretty cool guy in general, as far as i'm concerned. i dont wish the site was sans-hippies. i wish it just had more cool people and less douchebags :cheers2:
I consider myself a hippy and I love RT. But I refuse to take anything or anyone too seriously. All of this has nothing to do with being a hippy, it has everything to do with too many people having a stick up their ass.
Haha I thought you were joking. You were here, probably just forgot. Back in '06 when <God> (among others) caused turmoil here and challenged Skip's authority. (And then of course, there was the Hipgraveyard.) Everyone I think just went to the hideout until it was all settled.
so the hippie haters were persecuted by the hippie forum and had their random thinking area shut down, which forced them to relocate to a new community to assemble for their right of freedom of speech. ironic?
Lode, i understand you were young and naive when you posted that thread, but really... wholesome organic food is better for you than refined flour and sugar, and i think "you enjoy myself" is a nice, musically interesting song. that being said, a lot of "hippies" i know do not eat terribly healthily at all and are often tremendous wee wee heads.
No, I think you are missing it as well, the whole thread was done tongue in cheek, as far as Spence and Pavel were concerned. Ironically, it was the young hippies that got so bent out of shape over it. He was merely supplying them with more bs to vent over.
but an organic tomato is not better than a tomato that isn't certified organic and so on with comparing all the other fresh produce and such...
i'm sure there was some malicious intention. those who seriously consider themselves proud hippies can be a bit lame.
