http://shop.grasscity.com/shop/grasscity/mjgcstsh3.html i like this sherlock lots!...hehe and as for my *dream* pipe, it would be somthing so amazing!, it would have tubes coming out and around being so complex that i could not follow, it would be amazing quality like that panda and frog. tho just cause the way i am, i might possibly want it to be a dry hand pipe....makes it much easier to be able to do my favorite way to smoke, magnifing.
I have no problem with the pricing of these pieces, having judged a glass art contest for the IC 420 Grower's Cups in Amsterdam (2004 and 2005), I think these pieces would be winners, and are reasonably priced. The issue here reminds me of the controversy over the price of cannabis. There is a tremendous amount of hard work and planning required to either grow dope, or blow glass. And the materials aren't cheap! Ever check out the price on raw materials such as the dichromous glass that makes them shimmery and jewel-like? It ain't cheap. Plus add the risk factor. Everyone knows that growing dope in the US will be a risk for you ending up behind bars and your life ruined... well manufacturing bongs in the US seems to be just as risky... I know several makers who have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars of inventory to raids on head shops by the feds. When they confiscate your inventory you don't get paid for it... and it usually gets destroyed. Ask Drum... THis fellow Clinton seems talented, by check out Chris Bunch's work from Holland - Shiva's Glass... not only are his pieces spectacular but smoke awesomely! And that's what it all boils down to, whether it can be used or whether it's just a piece of art. Peace, ~Payaso
Cool shit payaso! Mad respect for you! I agree the bong is well worth the money, as I noted it has a ton of dichro on it, which is expensive stuff. But what about the other two? I still can't figure out exactly what about those pieces demands the high price. No especially expensive materials, no relatively difficult/time consuming techniques, what exactly is it?
I would have a hard time ordering a pipe when I had no idea what size it was. Maybe you could list some measurements?
